If you want my short version: Stay here. Stay here now. Everything is great about this place – from the friendly employees to the clean, wonderful rooms, to the complimentary breakfast. SO great!
(UPDATE: Stayed again 1/12/19 - still GREAT!)
On to long version, so sit down!!! Might be my new favorite place. It is brand new (I stayed Dec 2018). The exterior is very nice and modern, nestled back off I-95 and 50. There are a couple fast food places around it (including a Cracker Barrel). On the other side of 95 is everything (2 minute drive, or a quick walk) – Walmart, gas stations, restaurants, Starbucks, etc. Our room faced 95 and we had no noise issues at all; it was a great room (401).
The young man checking me in was so very nice (Christopher). He was charming and welcoming and a pleasure to speak with. I came in contact with him quite a bit during my 4-day stay, and each time he was nicer than the next. Another gentleman who was there in the morning was super nice too, as were the ladies working the breakfast area (I saw Stephanie the most; she was wonderful and kept the place clean and well-stocked).The lobby is large and beautiful. There is a lot of seating in the lobby and a couple TVs (that’s the breakfast area too). One cold night we came in, and there was a hot chocolate bar where you could help yourself to hot chocolate and all the fixins’.
Let’s get on to my room. I entered and there was a long tiled area that was a full kitchen (everything included for a long term stay). You walk into the suite and there is a dining table that will seat 4, a large comfy chair, big picture window that brings in a lot of natural light – very spacious room. The beds were superior - soooooo comfy that I didn’t want to get out of them in the morning. The bathroom was very roomy and bright and clean and had a nice closet. The sink area had very nice countertops and I LOVE cloth shower curtains.
There’s a nice coin laundry room on the first floor with 3 new washers and 3 new dryers (the fancy kind!). It was a bit pricey at $2.50, but they were new, clean and worked great!
Love the environmental commitment of the hotel: They had stationary shampoos, conditioner, and body wash in the shower so you don't have to use and waste plastic throwing away those tiny bottles. I loved that! Recycle bin in breakfast area, and in my room. Real silverware and real plates! YAY! However, they still use the wasteful little plastic coffee creams (a thermos of cream would be less wasteful), but any kind of environmental awareness makes me happy!
The breakfast is fantastic – a big variety in a clean, bright space with lots of tables. And, the BEST, the coffee is HOT – yay! I am so tired of drinking lukewarm coffee everywhere. It’s a little thing to mention, but I like HOT coffee, coffee should be HOT – so I was a happy camper drinking my hot coffee.
There’s plenty of free parking, in the back area where the pool is, there are BBQ grills and lots of tables around the heated pool (I didn’t use it but it was pretty), a gym (I REALLY didn’t use that but it looked nice). And, there’s a big outdoor area in the front of the hotel with nice furniture and a fire pit that is beautiful at night. Believe it or not (being Florida and all), we were here on 3 really cold days – and that fire pit felt so good when you walked up to it. It’s a very nice feature. The outside of the hotel is very modern and pretty.
I loved my room. I loved this hotel. When my travels bring me to Titusville again (which is often), I most definitely plan on staying here again. Oh, FYI. The Kennedy Space Center is about 12 miles away – straight shot down the road east. The Wildlife Refuge is a little farther, but quick to get to. A very big shopping area, the new kind with Super Target, Bed Bath Beyond, all that stuff and lots of restaurants, is about a 25 minute drive west on 50 towards Orlando – we did that one day and there’s wasn’t any traffic on 50 until we reached a little when we hit the outskirts of Orlando...
Read moreWhat appears at first to be a beautiful, clean new hotel in a convenient area near the highway belies a less than acceptable place to spend a night or vacation. Sadly, this hotel is located in a crime infested area as was evidenced by our lovely view of a homeless man sleeping on the sidewalk for 2 nights and a police raid in the neighboring hotel parking lot. Walls and floors here carry every sound so we endured crying babies, loud voices in the next suite and a hammer-like footfalls with every step. Broken elevator and empty ice machines mean getting your exercise on the stairs.
Don't expect to get a good night's sleep here. Hotel management does not respect "do not disturb" signs and housekeeping entered unannounced Monday morning. We had planned to stay for 10 days but cut our trip short when management called to complain about the condition of our room after 4 nights without housekeeping. Hotel policy is no housekeeping on holidays or weekends. Come here with cash as there is no on-site ATM and the front desk cannot break large bills to help you.
Advertised as including free breakfast, but don't expect much. With the pandemic we weren't expecting a hot meal but be prepared to make due with granola. No fresh fruit or yogurt, just cold cereal and (potentially) cold muffins. Other TownePlace Suites like the one in Winter Garden FL provide freshly prepared eggs and a breakfast meat, but this hotel does not appear to be of the same caliber when it comes to value for the money.
Also advertised as "pet friendly" but expect to be hit with a $150 pet fee after the fact. We were never asked if we had a pet at check-in nor advised of the pet fee. After checking out the hotel retroactively tried to charge our credit card $150 all the while repeatedly sending us final folios showing zero balance owed and no pet fee charged. We're still waiting for over $90 taken in excess up-front at check in to be refunded.
Very disappointed in this Marriott TownePlace Suites as poor management makes for an extremely poor guest experience. The front desk manager is very rude and hasn't the least idea of how to properly treat guests. How a guest keeps their rented lodging during periods when no housekeeping is provided is none of her concern. Concentrate instead on providing good guest service, stop bean-counting the towels and cutting corners on...
Read moreMy sister and I stayed here for 1 week. It was located off of FL 50 and I-95. Despite the fact that we were in a room farthest from the I-95, it was extremely noisy from about 4 am until maybe 8am with semis, trucks, and various other noisy vehicles. It was difficult to sleep. The west end of the hotel was across from a couple of restaurants and other hotels and something being built to the side of the hotel. I cannot recommend this hotel if you are looking for a long term quiet stay. You will not find it. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. Our room was cleaned once in the week we stayed. The cleaning staff did stop by once to ask if we needed anything. We put our trash out in the hallway to be dumped when it got full. The room was clean. My sister slept on a pullout couch which was old, lumpy, and full of springs. We had to layer many blankets and comforters on top of it to be comfortable. The mattress pad was shredded in many places. We got another mattress pad, and had to put it over the old one as it could not be removed. I do not recommend the pullout couch. The mattress in the bedroom was fine. The lobby was freezing most of the time. The breakfast subpar. The pool area was small but clean with a grill to use if desired. We sat outside one evening and it was pleasant despite the freeway noise. The front of the hotel had many cushioned chairs against the side of the hotel as well as around the fire pit. The fire pit was covered the whole time we were there. When I asked about it, I was told I could take the cover off and turn on the switch if I wanted. The cushioned chairs were wet and stained. There were also tables with umbrellas and chairs around it in the same area. These were comfortable and we sat in them a few times. This hotel was convenient to the freeway and to many stores, shops, and restaurants in the area. If you are staying for a night or two, it would probably suit if you are not averse to road noise. Long term stays would not...
