I wish there was an option of no stars. Honestly. My husband and I own our own business in Virginia. Our 14 year old son had spring break, much like many business owners, if you take a business day off from work you want to make it count. We obviously fielded calls still and talked to our office, but we couldn't take the entire week off, work is just too busy. I booked this hotel through a third party, on that third party this hotel had great reviews. Not until we arrived did we see that the hotel does not clean the rooms daily and if you want you room cleaned you must call in before 9:30 the night before. It also states that room cleaning will occur daily between 9:30am and 2:30pm. We had the unfortunate luck that my husband got sick right before the trip, therefore he struggled with a sinus infection that led us to the ER night one of checking in at this hotel. Day two I called in and requested that our room be cleaned- thinking to myself fresh sheets, and towels he and we won't be laying in the germs. Our trash cans were overflowing from gatorade bottles and OTC meds to get my husband some relief. Day two arrives, we get up early and leave for Universal Studios by 9am. We return back to our hotel at 9:30pm to change clothes for a nice sit down dinner to find that our room had not been cleaned. 45 minutes of calling 8 different times to the front desk as we traveled to our dinner reservations and the front desk stated that she was checking in guests that we could come get fresh towels at the desk. Upon returning our key card did not work to get into the room, so back to the front desk again to get the key reactivated. I explained to now a different front desk person that I was upset that the room had not been cleaned, he offered me fresh sheets to change our own linens, I explained I would have air BNB if I wanted to change my own bedding. He advised that the notes from the cleaner said NS he said you must have hung your do not disturb tag on the door, sir we dont even have a hang tag for the door for do not disturb so that isn't even valid. He just shrugged and handed me back the activated key card. I called in on the third party with whom I booked and they advised it was unacceptable that they would place me on hold and call the hotel directly to ask for a partial refund, except the third party held on the line so long that they ended up telling me they couldn't even communicate to ask for the refund. I called back in to the hotel directly and was told well you booked through a third party you have to call them, I said no stop they just held on the line and waited for you, she (the front desk lady) said well I had to check in guests. I said my expectations now are a partial refund by 5pm today, you have now had since Saturday 4/6/24 (today is 4/8/24) to do the right thing and you haven't.|Ill amend this review if they step up to the plate and run this hotel like a business otherwise all other outlets of online presence are getting the same review|Steer clear, understaffed, mismanaged, and no quality behind the service or...
Read moreThe very first person I got on the phone was wonderful, nice, informative and accommodating. I was told I could check in at 2pm. I had the reservation pre-booked online but needed some questions answered first. Upon completion of this call at 10:08 Am, I completed the room reservation. When I arrived, there was a woman who argued the fact that anyone there told me I could check in early although I provided the exact time of the call to the hotel. So, I sat in my truck for an hour and came back in. Although I was already standing there, she attempted to greet the customers who came in after me. She was sitting in the corner of the office area with her lap top acting like her customers didn't exist and we were a bother to her. Eventually, I got to my room. It didn't have a/c in, so the room was hot. Bed was very hard. Power flickered twice. The snack machine right outside of my room (109) didn't work. The washing machine didn't spin out and it's off balance, so my clothes ended up clean, but soaked. It took 3 times in the dryer to dry and some were still damp. The dryer says .25 cent for 29 more minutes but it only gives you 5 more minutes. False advertisement. I got thirsty and decided to go looking for a drink machine. I found one in the other building, but that didn't work, not the snack machine beside it. I finally walked to the office where another lady (very nice) said there was a "working" drink machine in the sun room. YES YES it worked. Yay! But the snack machine beside it didn't. This "sun room" was more of a storage room with cardboard boxes everywhere. Ok, the property was littered with alcoholic beverage cans and bottles, cigarette butts and tobacco cans. The pool was filled with debris and floating beer cans. This was one of the worst Quality Inns I've ever stayed at. I will not be returning. They lady I delt with upon arrival didn't seem to care about me as a customer at all. And, it would be nice to not be awakened by housekeeping knocking several times while I was sleeping. I am a truck driver and was trying to get REST and RELAXATION...of which was...
Read moreAFTER OVER 2 MILLION MILES OF TRAVEL EXPERIENCE, this was by far, the WORST hotel 'adventure' I have ever encountered..... It started with the 'prima-donna' that checked us in. (must have been the owners family, cause a regular employee would be fired for this divas actions): very rude and dishonest. She attempted to charge $10 per day additional (on top of) our reservation pet fee. Lied about it, And got smug, when I produced my printed copy of the reservation. I would have left right then and there, but we just suffered a lightening strike on our Mims home, resulting in a devastating fire" we needed the rest: And lodging for at least a month or two, so we could recover. Then when we got to our room, no roll-away bed as requested AND CONFIRMED, Numerous calls and FIVE hours later the cot was delivered BUT DIDN'T fit anywhere in the room until I JAMMED IT between the AC unit and a bed, Needless to say, the AC was ineffective with the bedding blocking the vents. and my 72 year old body didn't easily rise and shine from this confined space ..... when I attempted to look up other available hotels, yep, the internet net didn't work. All of this in the first 6-7 hours of arrival. oh yea, no bedding for rollaway, which required addition calls. .......... the pool was nice... never had a good internet signal. My grandson, daughter and I all had to burn thru our data plan during this disaster. Toilet seat was broken and never fixed ...... anti-slip strips on lower steps were pulling off, creating a trip hazard (between rooms 159 - 161).... free breakfast was ??? .......... And did I indicate dishonest practices? A SAFE FEE? NEVER HEARD OF SUCH A THING. NO NOTICE AND NO AUTHORIZATION. NEVER USED. Then the desk clerk tells me she can't delete the charges; only the manager could remove the daily $2 and change fee. When I requested to speak to the manager, he/she was on vacation; really?.. I won't go into the suspected other activities on property. ........ Nope, didn't stay for 1,2 or 3 months.. 9-10 days was all we...
