This is the second stay here. We needed to flee Jax due to incoming Hurricane Idalia. The reason we picked this place again is because we were there a year earlier and really liked it. It's not the nicest or fanciest place, but the staff was friendly, and believe it or not, we loved behind the hotel is a pretty pond filled with curious gators. Beautiful property back there with a walk bridge and a gazebo. Loved the breakfast ladies and the breakfast. This time, we were very disappointed. The staff was overall nice except for one night office staff. We didn't get in until midnight, and when we got in our room, one bed had a wet spot on the covers. The whole way through, we didn't know what it was. So we were down to one bed. We had our service dog, and we have a new fur baby that's 12 weeks old. He has a crate and uses a pad. Well, unfortunately, our baby was playing on the bed and had a small accident. Nothing major, but we only had that bed. So i called down to see if we could get new bedding for both beds. It was too late the night before when we got in to "complain" about the other bed. The office girl said she could come get them, but she didn't have blankets. She offered to change our rooms. But we had so much with us, and all unpacked, we passed. I was surprised they didn't have blankets. I mean, it's a hotel. You're supposed to have more than enough of these things, not JUST enough. I'm an avid traveler, I know that at least. So we kinda were chilly that night. Still don't understand why she couldn't just wash them and bring them when they were done? Or even take the linens off the room she was going to move us to? But I digress. They are supposed to do daily light cleaning of the rooms... switching towels/washcloths, changing garbage, etc. They didn't. We had to finally ask and even talk to the maids nearby for some toilet paper, take garbage, towels, everything. The maids were very friendly about it. With having puppy pads to change and being there for 4 days, we needed assistance. It was getting ripe in there. Lol Our room wasn't very clean. The floor was filthy. Our furbaby found a full water bottle under the bed. The shampoo, conditioner, and body wash dispenser were practically empty. The breakfast was still nice. We would have like to see more picks for the eggs and bacon, hash, and sausage, but overall, our tummies were full, and we got our coffee fix. The lady working was very sweet and went above and beyond. She had overheard me expressing I was sad that there weren't any yogurt cups. (I wasn't complaining, I was just telling my bf, in a sad kid voice, with a boo-boo lip. Lol) Well, she went and made a few more cups so I could have one. It was so sweet! I was surprised and so happy! I had eaten enough by then, so I made sure I took one to my room. She even stopped me as I went out the door. She was afraid I didn't grab one in time. She is so sweet and caring, and she does her job very well. I wish I had remembered her name, but she deserves a raise , promotion, recognition, something! As for the back, behind the hotel, it has been sadly let go. The pond was covered in the green slug. Not a gator in sight. We wanted to see how much the young ones grew. They said there's 4 back there now, much less than last year. But we didn't see any other than the belly rub markings in the grass from going in and out of the water. No other wildlife, no turtles, etc. The gazebo was torn up, bench practically gone, just the frame. It was so pretty there before. Last year, they came to the room every other day and took care of the room, even changing the bedding and garbage. I don't know if there's a new owner or not. We met the owners last year. We'll, it's no longer going to a place we enjoy visiting or staying if in...
Read moreExcellent place to stay with a great on site restaurant and an amazing breakfast spread every morning. MARTHA is an excellent GM and runs a tight ship and it shows in the clean factor of the property. Excellent location and a block and a half from I-95. Large field preserve area. Behind the property to let the kids and the dogs run off the excess energy after a day in the car and the restraunt on site right next to the hotel office is great Irish Ppub Grub and steaks or seafood with large portions for the price and a perfect place to unwind after a long day of driving on I 95. I have been staying here for well over a decade now because of the excellent staff and management. THIS is an amazing place to stay if you are traveling with pets and our dogs love the staff and have to visit with Martha and the rest of the front desk staff. LOKI our youngest Boxer has to visit with Martha and the staff every time we are there. And the staff takes pet friendly to an entirely new level and I can't wait for Martha and her staff to meet Loki and Lunas puppies the next time we are their with the dogs. But all 3 of the adults absolutely love it here and thats rare to find a place where the dogs enjoy the property and the staff. THE staff are all pet lovers and owners and it shows with the interest and concern that the pets are just as happy as the people. Our Dogs immediately know where they are and where we are going about 5 miles north of the hotel and start to do their happy dance while driving down the interstate. This is by far our Boxers favorite hotel and I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Titusville. LIKE all hotels these days that are less than a hundred dollars per night. But the cops respond quickly and remove any problems effectively and without a big scene or disturbance. They also have a few people living at the hotel who's homes were damaged by the last hurricane. I enjoy seeing that they are willing to help the locals and willing to do longterm monthly rates till they can return to their homes. BUT I can't wait to introduce the staff to the babies next time we are their. Also I can say that the majority of the staff will treat you like old friends after just a few days of staying there . Let alone the ones who have been there for years. This hotel is definitely my home away from home in Florida. As well as the staff that is extremely helpful and will help you out however they can. But its rare to find an affordable hotel thats well maintained and feels like you are at home. Without the stress of life. The pool is very clean and they sweep the parking lot daily for cigarette butts and broken glass. But if you are traveling with kids or pets this is the place to stay. As theirs plenty of space for the children and pets to burn off that excess energy from being in the car. The property is in a great location and about an hour away from the theme parks in Orlando and the local attractions like Nasa, the warbirds museum, the Navy Seal museum with the Captain Phillips life boat, tge police hall of fame and museum is also just a few minutes down the road from the Hotel . VISITING for a race or concert at Daytona is about 45 mins to an hour north of tge property. Also their is a great steak house on the other side of I 95 tgat used to be where Beef O Bradys. Durangos Steak house is more expensive than Beefs but it is excellent as well and an excellent option if you are visiting for more than a couple of days and need...
Read moreI will start by saying that the place has a very large unrealized potential. I would like to give a higher score but essential things that ruined the experience of our stay at the hotel lowered the score.
The staff was wonderful and happy to help and the price was relatively cheap.
The first thing we encountered is when we got our room and entered it it smelled terribly with a particularly strong smell of cigarettes (in a non-smoking room to the best of my recollection).
We turned to reception and they changed our room immediately.
The new room we got was without the smell of cigarettes but there were hairs in many places, as well as ants that were in several places in the room.
The bed linens were not particularly clean and some had tears.
The room lock was not the best and one of the cards failed to open the room door the next day.
I would emphasize that no water bottles were offered in the room (something that can make it easier for tourists).
There was only one bin in the room, which made it difficult to maintain self-cleanliness in the room.
The shower room was small and not clean in some places.
On the safety rail outside the room, bird droppings were a common and unpleasant thing.
I will also add that the parking lot was an unpleasant area to say the least and there were a number of people walking around (not sure if they were hotel guests) who did not give a safe atmosphere.
The gym is equipped with basic and old machines but works well overall. More about the gym, the gym door did not open with the room card but even in this case the staff came to my aid.
Regarding the breakfast, the hostess of the breakfast is very nice and happy to help and fulfill the requests of the diners, the breakfast is offered early in the morning which makes it easier for those who want to travel early in the morning. The breakfast is rich and tasty and offers a good variety of hot and cold dishes.
The location of the hotel is good overall, close to the Kennedy Space Center (not a very long drive) and close to a supermarket.
The hotel has a pool and to be honest we didn't get to test it so I don't have a mandate to review it.
To summarize the above, the hotel is quite outdated and, in my humble opinion, it needs some renewal in terms of bed linens and improved cleanliness, including cleaning bird droppings and treating insects in the rooms more frequently to maintain the health of...
