I have been staying at this hotel for yearly cruises with friends and all has been fine until this year. We are currently at this hotel and arrived yesterday at 10 am after driving all night to get there. I had called 3 days prior and requested an early check-in, which I was told over the phone, "It should not be a problem, but would have to pay a fee*. I agreed to the fee as I have paid it before, even though I am and have been an IHG member for a long time. Upon arriving at this hotel and walking up to the front desk clerk, the attitude I received from that young man was totally unacceptable. He immediately advised me that the hotel was totally booked, and I would have to wait until 3pm to check in. When I tried to explain that I had called 3 days prior, I was immediately cut off by this young man and told again that I would have to wait, and basically he did not want to hear anything from me that I had to say. I asked to speak to the manager who appeared from behind a wall with this young man and started off with "they were totally booked, but if I wanted a refund, he would give it to me and I could try and find another hotel down the road". (Apparently, there were two space X lunches that had just been announced, and rooms at this hotel were now listed for nearly 400.00 a night.) Now with friends showing up to this hotel, and the fact that I would have to find 3 hotel rooms not one , I advised him that was not going to happen. I did advise him I have been an IHG member for a long time and the treatment I was receiving not only from Him but the young man as well would be told to IHG. After stepping outside to speak to my wife about this situation, I returned to the front desk and again asked to speak to the manager (who never gave me his name) and he returned with the head of housekeeping who asked for my phone number, which was given. I was told by both of them that I would receive a phone call when a room was cleaned, and we could check in then. I advised the manager that me and my wife would be sleeping in our truck out front as we were very tired, and I went back outside. After waiting over two hours in our truck with no phone call, my wife needed to use the restroom. Prior to going into the hotel, I joked and said you should ask the clerk (young man) if a room was ready, and I bet he will say, " I was just going to call you." Well she went in and used the restroom, and upon asking the young man about the room, he stated "I was just going to call you" to my wife and she came out to get me. No phone call from the manager , nor housekeeping, just this young man having fun with the people that are spending their hard earned money at the place he works for the manager was no where to be found when I came in and checked in, nor was housekeeping and now a young lady (who was very kind) started the check in and was handed the keys to the room and everything from the young man. This showed me that this had already been ready for some time, and this was his revenge for saying how he treats people. Well, if this manager wants that type of behavior from his workers, more power to him. Don't look for me or my friends to ever come back, and I would advise anyone thinking about staying here. DON'T , THEY DO NOT RESPECT PEOPLE HERE. I will be forwarding a copy of this review to IHG so they know how this hotel acts towards customers. It should also be said that this hotel is in desperate need of updating, the beds are like sleeping on a piece of wood, they are so hard and the rooms themselves are very outdated and...
Read moreI am not one to write a bad review for no reason. This hotel was quite possibly the worst experience I've ever had. We booked it for 12/29/24 for a one night stay for our cruise that would be leaving port Canaveral 12/30/24. This was simply supposed to be a place to shower and sleep and that is it. We had booked the king suite so my husband and I could share the king bed and our kids could share the pull out couch. There were no extra linens or pillows available in the room to make up the pull out bed. Called the front desk and they said we would have to come get the linens from down stairs. I go get the linens and proceed to make up the bed however the twin sized fitted sheet did not fit the full/queen pull out couch. I made do with tucking in the flat sheet under the mattress and the kids just had blankets. I tell my oldest to go ahead and get in the shower during this time. He yells for me saying he has no soap. I tell him we are using the hotels soap just for the night. He says I know, but there is none. The bottles they had in the shower were mostly empty (maybe they are for looks?) I don't know. So I give him the hand soap bar that is on the sink to use. He calls out a few minutes later and says he is done and needs a towel so I tell him to look and there should be some in there. He tells me yet again there isn't. I look and sure enough there is not a towel, hand towel, bath mat, or washcloth in sight. Call the desk again and tell them we have none of these basic hotel things. They again tell us that we need to come down and pick them up. I send my husband this time and he comes back and explains to me that the lobby staff said that all of their towels were in the wash. So they gave us "what they had available" which included 1 washcloth, 3 hand towels, and 6 bath mats to clean and dry with for a family of 4. I don't understand how you can run a hotel this way. Utterly ridiculous! The mattress was super firm. We had a horrible night's sleep on that mattress. But others may like a mattress you can bounce a basketball on. I just know I'm not one of them. I don't foresee myself in this area anytime soon but if I am I dang sure am not staying here. I told this to the lady the next morning at check out when she asked how our stay was. That we had no linens, no towels, no washcloths, no soap. I don't know how you can check somebody in to that room and say that the...
Read moreThis hotel is in a decent location off of 95, but you can’t get back to 95 without having to turn right and doing a u-turn which is a pain. The staff is nice however, the whole place smells HORRIBLY of mold and mildew including the elevator, the hallways and the rooms. If you go to the little restaurant and charge it to your room for a meal be careful. My husband had breakfast one day and the price was like 12 dollars. The second day it was 19. Exact same meal two days in a row. When we checked out they had charged him for a breakfast the first day and a dinner the second day. He had breakfast both times. They won’t fix this either at check out either. It may seem like a small amount to complain about but it’s not to me. Every penny counts. They have little tables out front with chairs to sit but there is absolutely zero shade. They have a bench that’s kinda under the car park but it’s facing the opposite way with zero shade. I was disappointed and will not stay here again but it wasn’t the worse place I’ve been. So there’s that. Also they didn’t come to our room and bring towels or change the sheets. You have to ask for that and even then, they just make the bed. They do not put fresh sheets in the beds. Definitely will not recommend this place to friends or family.
Edited: I want to edit this after reading the response below. I live in Florida so I know about the humidity. The smell was not a humidity issue. It smells terrible in this place. I would have changed hotels however this was a work trip and I was too exhausted to deal with that. There was water on the lobby floor running out from the laundry area where the washer and dryers are when we checked in for one thing. Then when we arrived to our first room where they gave us double beds after we requested a king sized bed, it smelled awful and so did the second room they moved us to with the king size bed. It smells like this whole hotel has been flooded. The smell needs to be dealt with. Seriously, it’s that bad. Second I did not have my do not disturb tag on the outside of the door. I checked. I was bewildered as to why they didn’t come to clean our room. I’m one hundred percent sure the do not disturb tag was not on the outside of the door. I had to go back down to ask for towels etc after working 10 hours. I appreciate your response but probably won’t...
