This is our (my wife and I) THIRD time staying at this hotel. First 2 times were great but now it has gone VERY DOWNHILL! The vent in our bathroom was not working and the faucet in the bathroom was loose. The top came off when we pulled it up to go on. Also, there were guests above us that sounded like they were moving FURNITURE every night (around 11pm and it went on for quite a while). And above our heads looking up to the ceiling from our bed, there were damaged/bubbled areas in the ceiling above us that looked like a leak was going to come right down on us! Also, the coffee in the breakfast area was "out of coffee" TWO mornings in a row and it was only 6:30 am!!! Also, the security was awful. The side door that brings you into the breakfast area was not secured. Your room key card was not needed to get in. You just pulled on the handle to walk in. When I mentioned this to Tiffany she said "a work order was placed". Really? We were there ALL WEEK and the door was never fixed. How long does it take for a "work order" to be fulfilled? And door security is IMPORTANT. On another side door of the hotel, someone was putting a rock to hold the door open so you would not have to use a room key card to get in. How dangerous is that? ANYONE could come into the hotel and go anywhere in there. And this was late at night when we were walking our dogs! Also, the garbage cans around the entire hotel were filled to capacity! When we mentioned it they said the maintenance guy does that. So they called him only to get his VOICEMAIL and they did not know where he was! REALLY?? And all around the hotel there was DOG POOP on the grass. We have two little dogs and we make sure to pick up after them. Obviously, it's the OWNER'S responsibility to pick up after their dogs but if they are that inconsiderate, then the HOTEL is responsible to clean the mess. Dog poop was on each grassy corner ALL WEEK. We had to make sure our dogs would not smell or eat this poop and get sick from that contamination! There's No excuse! And then one day dog poop was on THE SIDEWALK and NO ONE PICKED IT UP! Obviously, emptying garbage cans and removing dog poop was not being done! The final straw was when a group of men thought they were at a campsite. They were gathered in a circle on the sidewalk of the hotel and they were drinking beer and smoking. We had to walk around them and walk into the parking lot and go back on the sidewalk when we were walking our dogs. The next morning there were empty bottles of beer left there in a cardboard carrying box, and all the bottle caps from the beer bottles and cigarette butts were all around where they had been sitting. Meanwhile, the garbage can and the cigarette pole ashtray was only a few feet from where they were "hanging out". UNBELIEVABLE!! We could not wait to checkout and we shared our thoughts with Tiffany and she said "I'm sorry. Sometimes I even have to do their jobs". THAT IS NOT HER RESPONSIBILITY! When we checked out, the girl at the desk, Caitlyn, kept apologizing and said Esther, the manager, would call us because she didn't get in till 9am. When we spoke to Esther she also apologized and said she would send our complaint to Corporate and find out about a refund for all the catastrophies we endured (which she admitted was A LONG LIST OF THINGS DURING ONE STAY!) Esther called today and asked if we would like a certificate giving us "one free night at Extended Stay". We said no. We live in South Carolina and we come to Florida to visit my mother who has Dementia/Alzheimer's and my father's grave in the National Cemetery. It is not a "happy" visit to begin with and this disappointment in our once "go to" hotel has been crushed. We will no longer be staying there. There are other hotels in that same vicinity that we will go to. We are now waiting to hear from Corporate. I hope this review does not fall on deaf ears and Corporate does the right thing, not only by us, but with the issues this Extended Stay has. It has become a complete turnoff. Alan...
Read moreWe booked 4 rooms for several days July 2024. The reservations were accurate and appropriate rooms given. The front desk staff at check in was pleasant. The hotel is new and so we believed it would be adequate for our needs. However, we all had similar issues in our rooms which I will outline here:||Air conditioning - anyone who has visited Florida in July knows the importance of air conditioning. Just as important as maintaining cool temperatures is to have a strong unit to overcome humidity. The wall based units did neither. Also, there are modern controls on the wall separate from the unit. None of those worked. I ended up buying a fan at a store to help. Thankfully, the bed linens are so thin that we didn’t have to worry about too many blankets on the bed. When I unpacked my bag at our next destination, the clothes that were hanging in the closet were still damp from the room. ||Cleanliness - I can start with a photo of the mold on my bathroom vent. It was so thick that I was tempted to wipe it down myself. One of the other rooms had water on the floor and wiped it with a towel. The towel was brown after. I found staining on the bed, stains on the bathtub and overall stickiness on the floor. They should terminate whoever is responsible for cleaning. Housekeeping did not visit during the trip which was fine. We cleaned it ourselves. |Every one of our rooms had problems with the window shades. They were broken, ripped, or otherwise didn’t work. ||Amenities - |No pool. |No seating area in lobby to visit. There are 2 picnic tables outside. We sat there one night and were accosted by other hotel guests asking for a ride and for money. Yes, fellow hotel guests. Also, the tables are placed next to the laundry vent blowing humid air out. |Kitchen - they do have a full sized refrigerator and a hotplate. No coffee maker. |Bathroom amenities were virtually non existent. Bring your own shampoo, conditioner, soap. No hair dryer provided in room. |Laundry room - there is no detergent for sale, bring your own. |Food - there are |||||some muffins or other pastries for breakfast. Do not expect much. No food for sale other than a soda and chips type vending machine. ||Area - Access to the major road can be difficult due to medians not allowing left turns. The hotel is convenient to a steakhouse and an IHOP. The Cracker Barrel, Starbucks, target, etc. is not within walking distance due to lack of sidewalks, cross walks, etc. ||Also, there was a very large alligator in the hotel parking lot upon our arrival. This is Florida and there are a lot of alligators, but this was the closest I have ever been to one without paying admission. Photo attached. ||Bottom line, don’t stay here. Do yourself a favor and stay on the other side of the road next to the Cracker Barrel. There are at least 3 similar price point...
Read moreThis the worst experience I have EVER had at a hotel. When first checking in, I asked for a quiet room. The front desk girl, I think her name was Ashley? Checked us in to a room that was behind the elevator, 50 feet from the lobby, with a public bathroom right across from it. (Not a quiet room.) I went right back to the desk to get another room. She was checking in the next person, which was fine. In the interum, 3 more people came in to check in. She proceeded to then help the next person, who didnt speak English, so it took longer to check that person in. Okay, surely she'll address me next bc I had checked in before the other two people were even there and had been waiting for her to finally address me. Now there were two additional people waiting in line. She then proceeded to check in the NEXT person even though I had been standing there waiting. In addition, she had to walk everyone to let them into their rooms because the room key machine wasnt working. She was going to make me wait until the whole line was gone.|| So, finally, I said excuse me, I've been waiting here, can you please help me? Her answer was, "excuse me, I'm helping other customers." So I said,"Obviously. I know I came back to change my room, but still, I was here before all of these people." She became very angry and raised her voice to me saying that I was extremely rude and I could wait. At this point I asked to cancel and get a refund. So, finally, after she was done checking in all of the people who came in after me, she called her manager, because she didnt know how to do the refund, and told her that I wanted to cancel bc the keycard machine wasnt working and I thought I had to wait too long. Totally not true! The keycard machine part was fine, but she shouldnt have made me wait until she helped the line of people who came in after me and then tell me I was being rude about it. After giving us the refund, as we were walking out, she actually said a little too loudly, "BITCH!" I was floored! This front desk girl was unprofessional, rude and TOTALLY INCOMPETENT. If you want any type of cust service, DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL! The Marriott next door...
