I recently had an appointment at the Salon and was not happy with my results. In the past I have used the salon but with a different stylist who sadly is not longer employed by Ulta. I was hesitant to make this appointment as it even took me longer to book my first appointment with my original stylist. All i wanted was a touch up of my blonde accent highlights. I have medium cool brown hair so I always get a cool tone ashy blonde accent highlights. I also get bangs, wispy almost like Sabrina carpenter bangs. Very 90s. I know my hair is easy to lift as I have had my hair highlighted before and touched up before by my previous stylist. This time around the stylist that I picked made my highlights orange and cut my bangs straight across - while my hair was wet. When seeing my hair while sitting in the stylists chair it was hard to tell how brassy my hair was under the lights in the salon, but when stepping outside in natural lighting I could see the orange brassiness. My bangs are still completely brown, no color whatsoever, the technique used to bleach my hair wasn’t the best as my hair was split right down the middle and bleached with the foils on each side, instead of sectioning the top /crown of my hair to go back and sectioning the hair that way so that the highlights would not be patchy and uneven. When cutting my bangs she cut them straight across. By the time I wanted to voice my opinion it was too late and my bangs were cut a bit above my eyebrows my hair was wet meaning that when my bangs would dry they would look even shorter on my face, they were also very blocky not at all wispy .I went back to the salon after stepping outside to speak with a manager to see what could be done, I knew there was no use in mentioning my bangs as you can’t put hair back on and I didn’t want them to be messed with again incase they came out worse. I can always fix them myself at home and try to style them a different way until they grow out. When it came to the color I didn’t not want to go in with another round of bleach and compromise my hair even further, the only option available and logical was to tone down the brassiness. After re-toning my hair and getting it dry it was still not what i originally wanted but left with it anyway as, again there was not fixing the damage. My hair at least looked a bit presentable for work but not what I wanted at all. I am usually not one to write reviews or even go back into an established if my order was wrong but in this case my hair is something I have always struggled with and i finally felt like I had a good routine down and color that suited me. I took a lot for me to go back in and ask what could be done to fix it, the whole time I wanted to cry. When first sitting down in the stylists chair I should have know that she might have still been new or learning color theory as she pulled out a book as a reference. It’s fine to still learn it’s how we grow as people but I’m still very disappointed and dissatisfied with my hair. After the stylist tried to fix it the top of my hair was still brassy and my color was patchy and uneven. She asked if it was better and I told her that it was better than before, less orange. But I knew there was no fixing the damage that was already done. I left very unhappy again to the point of tears. I do not recommend getting your hair done at this location unless it is with a master stylist. I always shop at ulta and am a frequent customer at this location but I will not be visiting the salon again. The pictures with the white heart are why my hair was like before when my original stylist would do my hair and the other photos are what I was left with. I’m not sure if you can tell but what I had was a more ashy blonde (the picture with my hair shorter is a better representation of the color I wanted retouched) the very last photo shows what I have always gotten done to my hair as you can see it’s more blonde and ashy. Not...
Read moreI am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding the appalling customer service my daughter and I experienced at the Ulta Beauty location in Westbury. Within just 30 minutes of being in the store, we encountered three separate incidents of rudeness and disrespect from three different employees on September 1, 2025 at 6:30 pm.
One Spanish-speaking associate screamed at us rudely and unprofessionally told us “You can’t take that cart in and bring it outside “ A second associate with a nose ring said to us, “You can’t be back here, we’re closing,” in a rude and dismissive tone. When my daughter inquired about a product, she was brushed off by another employee with, “Oh definitely we don’t have that here,” said in a condescending and disrespectful manner.
Ulta employees’ behavior was very rude, unwelcoming, unprofessional, and outright unacceptable. As paying customers, we expect courtesy and assistance, not hostility and disrespect. Instead of being treated with professionalism, we were met with an unwelcoming environment that clearly demonstrates poor training and a lack of accountability at this location.
I demand that Ulta Beauty address this matter immediately. The behavior of the staff at the Westbury The Gallery Plaza branch is damaging to your brand’s reputation and directly drives away loyal customers like myself. Based on this experience, I will no longer be shopping at this location unless corrective action is taken and employees are properly retrained on professionalism and customer service standards.
I expect a prompt response regarding how this complaint will be...
Read moreHORRIBLE !!!!! ZERO STARS.My mom and I usually put up with this place because it is the closest Ulta to our house and also near a lot of the other stores we shop at. However, our experience this week was the last straw. I understand the week after a holiday can be hectic but honestly this is the worst in a chain of bad service. Went there to get a shampoo and co conditioner for thinning hair. I waited on a long line (which they always have for understaffing) And when I finally went up to the cashier she told me, without looking me in the face "oops I'm closed". The other open cashier girl had already taken the person behind me and three associates at the cash register area, that all saw my predicament, continued to all search for a coupon for a customer who had already purchased her items rather than assisting me. I left my items on the counter and promptly left the store. My mom however got her hair done at the salon and it was terrible. First of all, the stylist she made the appointment with didnt show. Then, the colorist that did her hair, though very skilled at color, left product burning in her scalp and stained her ears and forehead. The colorist also kept complaining to my mom about her working conditions and repeteadly told my mother that her hair came out bad because she had bad hair.My mom has wavy Carribean hair but that is not an excuse for bad blow drying/styling skills. Unfortulately, she was forced by management to pay the full price $130 for the service. She ended up leaving with worse looking hair and had to go home to wash out all the left over color from her hair. HORRIBLE SERVICE DO NOT WASTE...
