I stayed here for a week in April 2017. It was exactly what was advertised, nothing fancy, no frills lodging. BUT, it was the perfect Base camp for my Spring Break adventure. With clean rooms, and great daily cleaning staff/ service, the Motel provided the quality, safe accommodations I was looking for. The separate bedroom provided privacy for my girlfriend and I, and allowed my daughter and her friend the ability to turn their sleeper into their own room nightly. It came furnished with pretty much everything needed to survive cooking breakfast or lunch for the few times we didn't go out to eat at one of many local and delicious restaurants within walking distance. The pool was very nice, quiet and refreshing. The grounds we're clean, and the owners were constantly cleaning or working on enhancing something. I found the owners and staff to be pleasant, accommodating and helpful. Whether it was advice, fresh towels or another requested service, they were very nice and helpful. The location is AWESOME. We played from Clearwater to Siesta Key (Sarasota). The centralized location was perfect. Treasure Island never seemed TOO busy. While Clearwater was chaotic, and St Pete was always covered in people, Treasure Island was "just right". Only cons: 1 ) tiny parking lot, when full, it was a challenge to navigate in. 2) More of a society issue, but because of the non-smoking policy, A LOT of guest sit outside their rooms and smoked, and when we stayed, there were a lot of smokers, at times when you walked out of your room and toward the beach or pool it was overpowering. Overall it's amazing location right on the beach won everyone over. Loved staying there. It was perfect for my family vacation, thanks Algiers Motel for being my Spring break home. You delivered.

Algiers is the perfect little home away from home. The staff maintains the grounds daily and there is daily housekeeping to bring clean towels and remove trash. The Housekeeper Amira is very polite and professional. The water takes a couple minutes to get hot but it does get hot lol so don't panic when you jump into a room temp shower expecting it to be hot in 30 sec. The rooms have air conditioning that is silent and controlled by you. My studio room had more than enough closet space along with an iron and an extra blanket. I also had a ceiling fan which was nice. The only thing that could be an issue is noisy neighbors. The walls are thin so you can hear everything from the bathroom if your neighbors are not politely quiet. I was very pleased to have a mini fridge that had a separate door for the freezer. Plenty of space in there! A coffee pot and microwave are also provided with cups and coffee. They do not provide cream and sugar. But they are 10 min from publix grocery store. Their grills are charcoal and I believe there are 2 by the shuffle boards . The pool is amazing and kept an acceptable temp. The hotel provides a sidewalk that leads directly to the beach and a cement boardwalk. You Really can't get it any better than this for this price and comfort. I'd live here if I could!

We waited until a week before our trip to book a place to stay. I read reviews and then read some more, but Beachside Resort continued to pop up for us. It ended up being perfect for our long weekend. We arrived 5 hours before check-in, and they kindly allowed us to check in early! The room was comfortable and well furnished. Our only complaint is that the bed was VERY firm, but we still slept like babies.(90+ degree days, 5 miles of walking and whole days at the beach) The office staff was absolutely amazing, they had beach chairs, umbrellas and little carts we could use to take to the beach, supplied extra towels or cookware when needed. They were so nice, and always so easy to talk to. The hotel is located on a boardwalk and in close range to several tiki bars, restaurants and the beach! We saw beautiful sunrises and sunsets from the pool area and loved playing shuffleboard in the mornings before the full sun! Overall, we are so thankful we picked this cute little resort. It was just what we needed.

When we first got there I stayed out in my vehicle getting some things together while my husband took my card in to pay for the room. The attendant told him he needed my ID. So my husband came out to get my ID. I was still working on my things. When he took it in to show him he said he needed me with my ID. My husband said he was kind of rude about it and should have told him in the beginning. We checked into our room. Signed an agreement not to smoke in the room. We did not. My husband was smoking outside. My brother-in-law had met us there to go walking around town and maybe the attendant thought we were going to stay in the room and party. I don't know what his reasoning was. My husband was OUTSIDE the room. There was nothing we could say to change the attendant's mind. I canceled the pending charge with my bank and the attendant recharged my card a couple of days later. I finally got my refund. We've never been treated like that before on Treasure Island and never had any problems with anybody in the 25 yrs we've been vacationing on Treasure Island. There was a pride festival so everything else was booked. My cousin said she did stay there once and had some problems with him. Maybe that's why they changed their name and the parking lot empty. Just hope that attendant doesn't have too many bad days...
