This review has been edited since the manager Beata called me on Monday 4/15/24 morning to discuss and apologize for some of the issues in my original review below.
She assured me that her staff would be informed of my concerns too.
I learned that this hotel was built in the 1970s so microwaves can’t be in individual rooms due to fire concerns. There are plans to remodel and update.
The main thing is that I received an apology for being walked in on and also received a partial refund because of the incident.
Thank you!
The call with the manager Beata made it clear that the Evergreen Lodge is a good place to stay and that guests are a priority.
I highly recommend this hotel.

Original review below:
The Evergreen Lodge is a very nice place to stay in Vail since it is centrally located and parking for one car is free for hotel guests.
But….there are some issues with this hotel that must be made public: The housekeepers do a good job, but sometimes forget things. When I called about getting more shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and soap, the person who delivered it was so annoyed and gave me the impression he was angry at me as a guest.
Trash and old towels were left in the hallway next to our room for an entire day which looked so unprofessional.
Sometimes no one would answer the phone at the front desk.
The worst thing that happened was that at 10:15 am on check out day, we were still in our room since check out is at a 11 am, and while I was on the toilet, the same male housekeeper that was so annoyed about bringing me extra shampoo, etc, walked in on me!
Also, the first day we were there, I noticed one of the housekeepers just sitting in an open room for hours looking at her phone.
These behaviors by housekeeping make staying at this hotel less desirable, but in general it is a fairly nice place since the rooms are large and having a second sink outside the closed bathroom was so great for two people. There are also large closets and plenty of room to move around.
There is no cable television, just antenna TV, which is unusual for hotels these days. Also, there are no microwaves in rooms, but there are mini fridges.
There is also a free underground covered parking lot for guests which was nice.
We enjoyed the hot tub and sauna and the work out room. There were plenty of towels in there which sometimes is an issue at some hotels and the public restrooms in those areas were clean.
The housekeeping service was daily and we didn’t have to request it and we were given plenty of towels each day.
Even though there were some negative issues, I would stay at Evergreen...
Read moreThe good: Amazing staff Great location Good services on site at a fair price (laundry & ski/board tuning, sharpening, & waxing)
The opportunities: Dated rooms (and the most overly complex shower/tub faucet I’ve ever seen) WiFi is nearly unusable from room Resort fee surprise
The details:
Stayed here for almost a week. The staff has been very helpful and responsive (eg fan wasn’t working in my room and they immediately replaced it … accidentally left do not disturb on my door after I left and they offered to clean my room when I got back and realized the mistake.)
Laundry: far cheaper onsite than any laundromat within 70 miles. DONT use both washing machines at same time as floor drain may (did) overflow. Change machine only accepts $1, $5, $10 but I was able to break a $20 at the front desk.
Tuning services: Fantastic! They’re done overnight and are back at the hotel around 4:30am… so plenty early enough after dropping them off after a full day on the slopes.
Shuttle to Vail: Walk out the back, down the outside stairs to the walkway… where the walkway splits take a LEFT. Go over the bridge and then turn right to get to either of the bus stops depending where you want to go. Bus stops have an easy to read map and time of when the bus will show.
FYI: when you leave your board/skis on the lobby rack (not allowed in rooms) they’ll move them to lean against the wall/window in the Venture Sports shop. If the gate is closed & locked the front desk staff can open it up for you. (Only had to do that once when I was out by 7am).
$1 Wing Wednesday at the bar was great! Though they were very understaffed.
Nepalese restaurant was also good (curry was amazing!)
———— was surprised by the resort fee both saunas need the nails pounded down again so they don’t burn you (or just sit on a towel) left dry sauna heat dial doesn’t work. hot tub can be either a nice hot tub or a luke warm tub. exercise room is minimal but functional I did better using my 1 bar of LTE than the hotel WiFi from my room. can be noisy. walls seem thin. May want earplugs to...
Read moreOverall fail. On an extended stay and here we are only on night 2 and just NOPE. We live in COLORADO and come to Vail a few times a year and would not ever stay here or recommend anyone stay here. ||Positive: CONVENIENCE. Location and 24 hour desk. ||Positive: EXCERCIZE. Workout room was sufficient.||Meh: STAFF. Initial contact and check in interaction was just ok. They seem unhappy.||Meh: CLEANLINESS. Just everything needs to be updated. Carpet, furnishings, bathroom heater...my shower drained super slow and things just weren't working properly. Very dated.||Negative: MISLEADING COSTS. Visit was booked through 3rd party through corporate card and was told on check in there was a "resort fee" ($35 per day) that we could wait to pay until I got it sorted. But the next day, they had charged my incidentals card without permission instead of the card the room was booked under. No attempt to call me. Charge was NOT AUTHORIZED. ||Negative: SHADY. When I called the front desk to ask the charge be reversed, I was met with unprofessional attitude and outright nasty staff member. She owned up to being the one who had just charged my card without speaking to me and she refused to reverse the charge per my request. Several times.||Negative: NOISY. Not a wink of sleep...so noisy...elevator, helicopters, interstate traffic, people walking and talking loudly...NEVER take a room that ends in *01...you will hear the elevator bank all night and it clearly needs updating.||Negative: UNCOMFORTABLE. Entire floor was super HOT...my room was at least 80 or more every night...I had the thermostat turned all the way down with no effect||Negative: UNSECURE. Bolt lock on my room was inoperable...door seems to be in disrepair/almost crooked with gaps all around. Later walked out the side door exit which was propped open. Not feeling very safe here.||Negative: ACCESSIBILITY. Wintertime parking lot full of snow and ice and hard to navigate on foot...be CAREFUL!||Sorry but it is the hard truth if you book through a 3rd party expect 3rd rate treatment. That is my...
