We were extremely disappointed in ROOM 204 at the Lodge at Lionshead. It was supposed to be the highest level -- Platinum. ||||The two bathrooms were original from the 1970's, I'm sure. The toilet was so low I thought it was for children. The jacuzzi tub was difficult to get into for a shower because it was so high. With no grab bars to hold onto, the flimsy shower door was the only thing to steady yourself as you climbed in. The shower head was disgusting. On day two, I used the other bathroom which was for our guest, and discovered that shower head was even worse -- it sprayed all over.||||The furniture in the bedrooms was overly large to the point of needing to walk sideways past a very large dresser in order to get to the other side of the bed.||||The 2nd floor living space was roomy, but the two leather chairs were so old, you sunk down, nearly to the floor. There was very little padding in them. We took pillows off the couch to sit on. The pull out couch was so deep you needed a couple of pillows to sit there. In other words, there was no where to sit comfortably to have a conversation, read a book or watch tv.||||Overall, the decor was very dated and definitely not a Platinum experience. For the price we paid, we really expected a nicer place with...
Read moreI can't say enough about this place. From the moment I arrived, the staff is so friendly and personable, not the typical canned trained staff you normally get from big chain hotels. I was there over Xmas and my boyfriends flight kept getting cancelled and he never made it. Each morning when I would leave for the day, the staff would ask about his arrival. When he didn't make it by Xmas day, Katie (?) invited me to her home so I wouldn't be alone. I mean, how sweet it that? I stuck with my brunch reservation though as I did want to continue to experience the town and cuisine. Still, the offer was so kind. As for the property itself, very nice. I was in a loft room and it was so cute and cozy. There are nice products provided and lots of towels. One of my favorite things is the real key you get...yes, a good old fashioned real key. The property is perfectly situated on the edge of Lionshead Village and short walk into Vail Village. There is a market right next door which is fully stocked with whatever you might need, pricey yes but convenient. If you would choose to cook, the kitchen was also fully stocked. Just all in all what turned out to be an unfortunate situation for me, was made much more pleasant by staying at this...
Read moreFound this place years ago as it was recommended to me by Jeep for a Jeep Camp weekend near Vale at Camp Hale on top of the mountain with a special rock concert, so it actually was in the summertime. However this was the perfect place to go in the winter obviously location couldn't be better as was right by the lifts and loved the condo we had. It was clean, maintained, no problems. The price may have seemed a little pricey but considering the location and the quality of the condo we had I thought it was definitely worth it. A short distance by car you could stop at Beaver Creek as well for skiing or shopping too. Great hiking in the summer on trails in the mountains and went on a National Geographic Photographer led hike sponsored by Jeep. Had a concert on top of the mountain with top star country singers. And my son went on a river rafting trip with a group sponsored by Jeep as well. Great location for...
