John A. Dobson Ice Arena — Local services in Vail

The incompetence is surreal. Highly disappointed with the order of operations with this establishment. I bought my ticket online and came at the allotted time. It was immediately apparent that they could not accommodate seating for all the paying customers. On top of overselling tickets they had the WHOLE front row taped off (so people wouldn’t distract the players) which I find completely asinine. It’s a hockey game not a puppet show in a library. After a long talk and some convincing they actually let us sit down in the front row bleachers and that alleviated about 30/40 people from having to stand up. But after making the decision of letting us sit down they changed their minds and decided to kick us out the bleachers mid game. And then didn’t have any other solutions for us… they literally told us they don’t know what do with us all and are clueless on how to rectify the situation. If they are overselling tickets for more money just raise the price of the ticket I would’ve happily paid twice the amount for proper accommodation rather than being treated like I was...

WORST TIME!!!!! Tried going to my first Yeti game as a local & bought tickets online ahead of time (the website stated the % capacity, so the arena absolutely had access to this). When we arrived, we were informed that they had oversold the event & it was "1 in 1 out". We waited in the freezing cold until we were at the front of the line and realized that a lot of people who had not bought tickets online and were behind us in line were let in, creating this issue. Scanners were prioritizing people they knew despite us being next in line for about 20minutes and finally, the woman in charge came out and threw a temper tantrum, yelling that the entire line needed to leave. We asked if we could be given cash for the tickets we paid for since they had a register directly in front of them and they said that that would be "stealing money"... despite them already having our money for the event they weren't...

Beautiful rink. I just moved here a few weeks ago and joined a league. The location is excellent, close to Lionshead parking lot which is free all summer. The rink is super clean, spacious changing rooms and the ice is good. It’s an impressive structure with wooden lattice rafters, which is nice and high. plenty of good seating, the benches are super spacious. After tge game there is a concession kiosk serving beer abd some spirits and snacks. The best part is you are literally walking distance from all of Vail's bars and...
