Read moreThis is the most quintessential ski town in Colorado and it’s enamored with elegance. We stayed at The Lodge which is a ski in/ski out resort and the rental place gave me new Skiis mid-morning as the first ones didn’t feel right. I’m an expert skier, but I only ski a few times a year and staying out of Denver for a few nights felt like the ultimate entrance into another world without the jet lag. My dad was the top requested ski instructor here for a decade in the 70s and 80s. My only regret is he didn’t buy any real estate because the town just gets better with time. I love the Four Seasons and all of the hot chocolate bars at the Lodge. The food was amazing. There’s sushi, pizza and even better food then Denver sometimes. The 360 mountain views from the top of Vail Resort are stunning and awe-inspiring. For skiing, it rarely is as crowded on the back bowls so I like to hang out there in the morning when it’s sunny. The little creek running through town is super serene. Lastly, you can save some money on parking by doing uncovered instead of covered ($25 instead of $50). Pro-tip: Hardly any traffic on Tuesdays. Most importantly, the massage and spa experience at The Lodge was divine. I got my first pair of sustainable fitness wear- Alo- now in Cherry...
Read moreThis was my first trip to Vail Colorado. I travel quite often. Being an Iowan I always thought of Vail as Boujee, and only for the upper class. However, I was pleasantly surprised to experience a mix of everything. Mostly surprised to see how family friendly the area is. Vail village offers boutique stores that are that are quite eclectic for the every day, Midwestern (if anyone remembers the show Dumb and Dumber) although perfect for the fashionista. I found that there are some very affordable shops, and some that are quite bougie, and would fit my second life as a real housewife. :-) Food prices were on point and the people were incredible but best of all when you’re in Vail Village you feel like you’re on the set of a movie. It’s so unbelievable words cannot even explain you have to go and visit. Even if you don’t make your stay in Vail, because it is quite pricey, there are smaller towns, not far away you can make a day trip. If you are into skiing or snowboarding, I would highly recommend getting on the mountain. It’s one of the most incredible...
