So, I want to say first and foremost, I love Tin Drum. I've loved them since they came to Atlanta and I've loved them through a long steady decline.
Today I arrived and ordered the Drunken Noodles. I was having a little back pain and so, I decided to done inside to give my back a rest.
Thr ordering experience was cumbersome. The cashier announced 'I can take whosever is next ' and then promptly excused herself while she typed on the screen for the next few minutes.
Then she asked what will I have, I ordered the Drunken Noodles and Crab & Cheese rolls. She instructed me to insert my card and then mumbled something and turned the screen towards me. The card reader was still prompting me to wait. And I didn't know what to do so I just mentioned it to her and she told me that it would tell me what to do. Ok...After another minute the screen changed to the tip page. I was insulted but I left a tip, thinking maybe she's new.
I went to the back and found a space and about 12 minutes later my food shows up. I dunno, it looked kind of small. Maybe it was my memory, maybe I imagined it being bigger than it actually was.
Then about 5 minutes after I start eating the wait staff brings me my veggies.. apparent the chef forgot to add them before the served my food.
These are just young people working here and what happened is a management problem. It's clear that nobody trained them and they are just winging it.
They could do better. The owner could just be milking the business, maybe they are burned out and it's showing.
Again, I love Tin Drum but I'm writing this review because I think they can turn it around but the manager and or owners need to pay more attention to this restaurant otherwise nostalgia is...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWow! Such a great lunch spot! I like to wait to write my reviews until we have frequented a few times to see how consistent a restuarant is. This place does not disappoint! At this point my family and I have visited about 5 times. We are greeted everytime with a warm smile. That means alot because it makes my kids feel warm and welcome. People often forget how important a simple smile is in terms of customer service. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable on the menu. I wanted to try the new salad wrap that has spring rolls inside. It was recommended that I get the sauce on the side, so the second wrap didn't get soggy while eating the first. GREAT CALL! I wouldn't have known to do it otherwise so I really appreciate the attention to detail. The food is ALWAYS EXCELLENT. One of the truly stand out things, is the fact that everything is ALWAYS fresh! Our dishes come out so pretty too lol. Looks like the carrots and onions on top of my fried rice were cut just for mešAll the veggies in the rice are fresh. My glass noodles and veggies look and taste awesome. My kids love the kids nuggets. They come out freshly fried and with the perfect amount of crisp to the chicken. They like some teriyaki sauce on the sideš(Its a nice addition) My husband is obsessed with the Mango Chicken, and I admit, its delicious. Someone checks on us about halfway through the meal, which I feel is a very nice added touch. This Tin Drum is CONSISTENTLY GREAT. From the service (cooks and cashiers) to the food, this place rocks! Thank you guys for great service...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI love tin drum, but this one was a fail tonight. When I walked in, the air seemed very stale, like a convenience store that doesn't run the AC. There was a delivery box and some random papers and stuff taking up one of the tables, dirty dishes littering another table inside as well as one outside. There was someone working the register, but when I took a second to look at the menu she walked away. When I made a decision and walked over to the register she was standing in the back of the restaurant taking to someone. After 3 minutes of me standing there she looked and fished her conversation and came back.
I told her my order, and while she was still chewing on something she started to tell me "your order (pause to chew and swallow) comes with sauteed chicken, (pause to chew and swallow a bit more) but we just ran out". I asked what they had instead and she said they were out of shrimp (finish chewing and final swallow) as well, but they had steak and fried chicken. I said ok I'll take steak instead and a Thai Tea (their current promotion). She said they were out of tea, and it would cost more unless I got the fried chicken. When I protested she pointed to a gentleman sitting with his back to me and said "he just told me that I had to charge more for the steak. I protested a bit more because I really didn't want fried chicken, but eventually I put my wallet away and said "never mind, have a good night".
Panda express worked...
