I usually really like this place. But this was the first time eating there since they changed locations. I could drop them to a 2 star or lower after the meal that I just carried out at their place. But perhaps every place has a bad night. So I’ll keep their rating for now at 5 star since they typically have really tasty food.
But tonight the lamb kebab was dry and tasteless. The rosemary chicken platter was also dry and basically unseasoned (certainly no salt was used and just the smallest hint of rosemary). The side of potatoes was not cooked thoroughly. The fatoush salad was pretty mediocre too.
The chicken kebab was really good though. I’ll give them kudos on that dish. The Tuscan beans also were really excellent.
This was the first time getting their food for carryout, so perhaps it’s just not that type of place.
Also, they had the incorrect/incomplete address on their website. It’s on South Galleria. Caused me to drive around for five minutes until I found the place using Apple Maps. Their Google page does have the correct address tho and they said they’d fix the address on their website.
I do like their new spot and the decor is much much nicer than their old location. More upscale for sure.
I’ll definitely give them another chance and adjust my rating on that dine-in experience. I hate giving small businesses less than a five star unless they’re rude or unpleasant. Everyone is entitled to an off night and admittedly perhaps the quality suffered due to taking the food out...
Read moreOverly priced for extremely small portions of food. My "gyro" was smaller than something I would expect at a local fast food restaurant. I also ordered a side of hummus, which appeared to be maybe a few teaspoons of hummus! I will stick with my favorite Mediterranean spots in Druid Hills, Decatur, etc. At least the portions are large for the price, and the flavor can't be beat.
In response to the ignorant comment from the owner, I attempted to spare you the embrassment by not going into detail about the poor quality of your foods, but since you intend to insult my food preferences with your "franchise" comments, lets go into detail shall we? Your hummus was subpar, extra salty, and lacked the zip that I accustomed to from purchasing hummus from Buckhead, North Druid Hills, Decatur, etc. Which are far better RESTAURANTS than your poorly made food. Your pita bread was stale, and poor quality. The lamb pieces that I husband received, were dry and hard. Let's not mention the presentation of your food, which was reminicent of a FRANCHISE restaurant.
Perhaps you should spend more time on improving your food, than leaving snarky, unprofessional comments under your reviews. Reviews are there for reason, if you can't handle it, then get out of the restaurant business. I, along with two others in my party did not like your food. Perhaps you should relocate to the country where your "quality" ingredients will...
Read moreUpdate: I've been back to the restaurant 3 more times. I'm in love with their baba ganoush and gyro sandwhiches. The service is ok, the restroom is a little gross. I've bumped them up to 4 stars. Good place for lunch.
Meh. -The eggplant stack was amazing! Great fresh flavor, nice size. Something different! The Tabouli side was lacking in bulgar wheat. It was 85% parsley, hardly any cucumbers and tomatoes, but still season well. Kind of on the small side. It worked well with the humus... The humus was very small for $12 and none of the pita was grilled. Raw and bland pita bread. -Our big disappointment was the rosemary chicken. It was a sorry little chicken breast that was terribly dry. It looked to be the size chicken breast that would come frozen and used on an $8.00 sandwich. This was not worth + $20.00.
Overall, it was an expensive OKAY meal. Maybe it's a different experience GOING to the restaurant, but there really isn't anything making me excited about trying...
