Unwind Wellness – Navy Yard — Local services in Washington

I spent my 40+ birthday last Thursday at Unwind Wellness at Navy Yard.

It was the most Amazing, Relaxing, and Euphoric experience. I walked in the reception area and I was greeted with a welcoming environment and superb customer service.

My first service was a facial with Master Esthetician Ruby. She was attentive to my needs, a great communicator, empathetic listener, and able to provide personalized recommendations. Ruby observed my skin and asked questions at the beginning of my treatment so she could customize it. My consultation was warm, welcoming and offered a memorable experience. I walked away from my facial feeling relaxed and very happy.

My second service consisted of an Aromatherapy Unwind Signature massage with Jada. The massage untangled my knots and Jada checked with me throughout the session to make sure the pressure was within my pain threshold or if I needed it to be increased.

My shoulders felt 3 inches lower afterwards. I felt refreshed and de-stressed. Ruby has magical hands. I was floating after my Unwind Signature and foot massage.

I recently had the pleasure of celebrating my 30th birthday Unwind Wellness! My friends and I received a Signature Massage followed by time spent in the private lounge. The massages were incredible! Everyone left feeling completely relaxed, and some of us even fell asleep during our service. I want to give a special shoutout to my massage therapist, Annie. She asked me which areas I wanted to focus on and worked wonders, providing so much comfort to those spots. The private space was beautifully decorated and exceeded all of my expectations. The glasses, flowers, and every little detail were stunning! The pink touches tied in perfectly with my birthday theme. The food and mimosas was delicious, and I was thrilled with the selections.

I worked with Ana prior to the event to coordinate details and logistics. Her kindness, reliability, and excellent communication helped me feel completely at ease! I trusted her from the start, and she delivered behind my expectations. The day of, we were assisted by Cami. She was attentive to our needs and extremely friendly. She checked in on us frequently, offered to take photos, and displayed excellent customer service - all with a warm smile. Both Ana and Cami made me feel cared for, and both truly helped to make me birthday celebration special.

Thank you to all at Unwind! The experience overall was a 10/10 and I highly recommend for a birthday celebration or any other special occasion. The girls and I had a wonderful time and can’t wait...

Updated review - while my initial review wasn’t an amazing experience (see first review below) I am updated to a 5 star review because the owner personally reached out to me to see what they could do to improve my experience and offered a new service free of charge in the hopes that I would change my mind about his business. I appreciate this follow up and the fact that the team is working hard to ensure folks have a great experience at their spa and the second massage was definitely more to my liking with better pressure ❤️

Inital review - Sad that I didn’t have the same experience as most people that have come to this place for a massage. Got a couples massage and location, cleanliness and professionalism are all great but they had me fill out a survey in advance for pressure level I wanted and the therapist asked me at the start of the service about pressure levels, but even after letting them know multiple times and asking for more pressure during the massage the therapist was still not using too much pressure which was surprising and quite a let down for me. I also found it weird that you get asked out loud about how much tip you want to leave in the waiting room where other people are sitting instead of being able to enter it into an iPad or more discrete form of tipping. Given the overall price and lack of pressure not sure that I would go back but it probably is dependent on the...
