I have had Wiseguy on my list to check out for a long time and after finally trying it out today, I wish I had gone a lot earlier! Their specialty pizzas are very creative, and incredibly flavorful and it's so awesome you can try by the slice.
I had the Il Capo (Tomato Sauce, Pepperoni, Sausage, Ham, Bacon, Mozzarella), the Paneer Tikka (House Masala, Paneer, Mozzarella, Onions, Green & Chili Peppers, Tomato, Cilantro, Jalapeño Sauce) and the Korean Chicken (House Chili & Sweet Sauce, Crispy Chicken, Mozzarella, Cabbage Mix, Sesame Aioli). All were excellent but the standout was definitely the Paneer Tikka. Everything about it from the soft paneer to the delicious masala sauce and the peppers made this amazing.
Service was friendly and welcoming. This location near Navy Yard was a bit hard to find until you realize it's mixed in with a few other spots inside a mini-food hall.

Read moreWiseguy Pizza is a beloved pizza shop that's now in DC. This location is in Navy Yard in Canal Park in the middle of a park that houses a splash park in the summer and an ice skating rink in the winter.
Inside the building is Wiseguy on one side with outdoor seating and Altani Gelato and Coffee on the other side. That way you can have lunch or dinner followed by dessert.
The pizza itself comes by the slice and two slices is around $9. It's super greasy, but they sell some interesting slices like the Tandoori pizza, Korean chicken pizza, cheese, and everything in between.
One thing that is super odd are the bathrooms. The restaurant itself is nice, but the bathrooms are down a long, dark staircase through a shady hallway. The entire experience makes you think you may be murdered.
Other than that, this is an easy place to grab a quick bite if you're nearby in the park...
Read moreWish I could give a review about the food but didn't get that far. Running errands in Navy Yard and stopped in for lunch; ahead of ordering I told the young lady sitting on the counter that I wanted to use the ladies room first. It's bad enough that she did not greet me, acknowledge me or answer me, but instead chose to stare me down and called another employee over. When the second young lady walked over the girl sitting on the counter did not verbalize why she called her and simply gave an over the shoulder thumb point in my direction. At this point, my thought was if you can't point me in the direction of the ladies room and have zero customer service skills, and it takes two people to answer a basic question, then I can take my business elsewhere. Current status: just hopped on the metro to eat lunch in my...
