Saltwater Inn — Hotel in Westport

I picked this place because of the location and price. It's inexpensive and close to everything in Westport. Minutes until our dog's on the beach. I was able to walk about 100 feet around the building to fish right under my room window. For folks complaining about the lack of view in other reviews, I suggest not selecting the "no view" room option to save literally $15. You being cheap isn't the hotel's fault.

Given the price, I wasn't expecting much. It's beautiful and immaculate inside. The lobby and exterior are being renovated but the rooms have been recently updated. It's an old building built solid, but very modern with USB charging, LED heater fireplaces, and key codes along with old exposed beams. I can't wait to see the rest of the property updated like the rooms are! I could hear that people were talking loudly a few times outside but barely since the walls sound like they're built for live artillery fire.

The staff is exceptionally friendly and keeps the place friendly to dog people and folks who fish. They communicated over text before we arrived and made the experience seamless. We're already planning a second trip with friends and will be returning. The only downside is it's a small fridge with no freezer for our ice packs, but a beautiful, perfectly clean room with a super comfy bed and a view for $109 a night feels like I'm getting away with something already so I can't fault them.

Everything was AMAZING down to the room, location and especially the customer service!!!

I booked a room for one night for my son and his new bride. They were only able to get away for one night for their honeymoon and my son said he loved Westport. So after having so many problems with Expedia I called the hotel directly and the most beautiful soul named Diana answered the phone. I explained I was having so many problems with Expedia and just wanted to give my son and his bride one night to celebrate themselves. Well Diana couldn’t have been more helpful. She went above and beyond and created the most romantic atmosphere for my son and his wife. She had a bottle of champagne with flower petals and candy all over the room. My son and his wife were in awe. Diana even sent me pictures of the room. She treated my son and his bride with such kindness and thoughtfulness. The room was beautiful and the area is AMAZING. My son even started looking at house prices there!! This year has been a very rough year with the loss of my mother this year so to be able to see my son and his wife with smiles on their faces while they were in Westport was everything this mama needed to fill her heart. Diana was so accommodating and made their one night something they will always treasure and remember. They said the hotel was super clean and nice. The room had a beautiful view of the marina. I don’t really leave reviews, unless I had a really terrible experience… But the Saltwater Inn was truly one of the BEST experiences I’ve had at a hotel in a long time! My newly wedded wife and I were booked a room for our honeymoon by my Mother after getting married, and the owners were just outstanding and so amazing. They let us check in earlier than usual, placed rose petals and candy truffles all over the bed, along with a bottle of champagne and drinking glasses on the table at no extra cost. They truly care about their customers and didn’t have to do any of that, but they wanted us to have a beautiful experience on our honeymoon at beautiful Westport. I can’t even put into words how amazing our experience was and the memories my wife and I will have for years to come. The room was clean, the bed was super comfortable, the view of the marina was amazing to look at out the window and the room itself was just peaceful and homey. The location is very convenient, the beach is a short three minute walk away and the restaurant, gift shops and bars are a quick walk and back distance.
