Knotty Pine Tavern — Restaurant in Westport

Stopped here with high intentions really excited to check this place out. My boyfriend and I love dive bars and found a menu online that looked really good. When we got there we were instantly greeted after sitting down but our server who had long brown curly hair made it seem like we were trouble ordering because we saw a list of beers on a sign we tried ordering from and they didn’t have any of them. That’s fine though, finally she said what they did have and we ordered. When we asked for a good menu she said “it’s on the chalkboard” and walked away... so we awkwardly drank a few sips of our beer then went up to look at the chalkboard menu. We waited standing there about 15 minutes while she looked at us, ignored us and walked past us about 5 times. One point she sat at a table and was hanging out with customers. When we finally got to order and get our food everything she served to us was thrown on the table like she was annoyed with us and then she would walk away super fast. Onion rings were really good, my boyfriends burger was good, but my chicken tenders were COMPLETELY RAW. When I say raw, I mean slimey pink completely raw. We let the other server know who instantly apologized and said the other server cooked it and she’d take it off our bill. We ordered two more beers with her cause the other server also forgot our other beer. When we went to close out the long brown curly haired girl started to argue and yell at my boyfriend saying he ordered 5 beers not 4 forgetting she never brought us our other beer. The other server who was very nice was named Theresa. This was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had but I believe it’s not the place just that server with the long curly hair. This last visit wasn't our first time at the knotty pine, we went a couple years back when we stayed in Westport for a weekend. The food back then was fantastic and the service was great but this last visit was not pleasant at all. We all felt like we were invading somebody's space and were unwanted. While the manager was taking our order of food one of our peeps ordered a bloody Mary she stopped everything that she was doing to go Blake the bloody Mary and didn't even finish taking our food order. And... Why the hell is a restaurant in the middle of a coastal town, full of charter boats that take people out to go fishing, full of boats that people go out onto the ocean and fish with... Out of fish and chips. Apparently it's not made there and they didn't bring it when they were supposed to, well you know what how about you take your body over to a fishing boat and get some fish. We will never be back to the knotty pine ever again, and that's sad because last time we went there the fish and chips were amazing. I had chicken strips and fries and the fries were limpy, overcooked, and greasy. My husband had clam chowder and it was cold I'm pretty sure you don't serve clam chowder cold. I asked for a 7up and I got Pepsi, I got a dirty look when I told the lady that I had asked for a 7 up. And the soda was flat, I would have told the manager but she was already given us dirty looks...

Came in about 630 pm. Place was quiet and maybe 10 people inside. They had 1 cook and she was working her tail off. We placed our drink orders and food with the gal behind the bar. Drinks were really good and so was the cider. We realized quickly this is a local hot spot as it filled up SUPER fast and ended up with a group of 8 or so in a booth next to us spilling out into the center bar area. Hubby got his food fairly quickly. But we waited for an hour for our other 2 items. Gal who was cooking came to clear our table. Said she already brought us our food. We said um...no. Then she came back and realized the table behind us got our order. They got it and ate it but didn't tell her they didn't order it. So she quickly apologized. And our food came asap. Nice gal...that cook 😉. My chicken strips were good and my mom's fish and chips were pretty decent. I just couldn't believe how the group behind us continued to be served alcohol after at least 3 of them were over served. Couldn't barely stand up but yet kept getting drinks. I went to use the restroom and realized that was the place were 2 of the ladies in this group was smokin 🌿. I left a 20 on the table with a lil thank you for that cook! I'm sure hoping she got that. We really appreciated you ❤️ but I will say my hubby said his burger was out of this world and the music was...
