Bonito Motel — Hotel in Wildwood

So I booked a room for 7/24/23-7/26/23. I paid the the deposit on 7/3/23 When we arrived, I showed Nick at the front desk proof I paid. I said I'd like to pay the balance. With that he swiped my card 6x. And drained my bank account of every penny. When I checked my account and seen what he did I panicked. I was stuck in Wildwood with my twin 16yr old boys for 3 days no food or money to enjoy activities. I brought this to the front desk person Mookie who said nothing he could do. He couldn't give me utensils to cook (I needed to give them $40 cash to borrow the utensils that previously were free) the raw meat I brought there and he wouldn't refund me cash even though it was their fault 100%. I'm a diabetic with lots of health issues with two teen boys. My prepaid ride was already booked to pick us up on Wednesday morning. So we were stuck. We sat in our room until 7/26 with nothing at all to eat or drink and the water from the faucet is worse than Philly water. I told them I'm a diabetic I couldn't wait days to eat physically. After calling the police Mookie finally agreed to refund my money to my bank account that would take 3-5 business days to hit my account lol I'm back in Philly now, still no money back on my card. Please this isn't the only horror story, by me talking about the situation with others I found out this is an innocent mistake. This is how they do business. I've already filed a complain with the New Jersey attorney general office. I suggest anyone that has a similar experience to do the same. I think I should be refunded for the whole amount I paid as we didn't vacation we sat and waited to be picked up and hoped that my health didn't take a turn for the worst. It's absolutely disgusting how we were treated. Their mistake totally and let us sit and starve. Didn't even offer us water. I know business is business, but when greed outweighs human compassion You're doing it wrong! Also the shower sprayed everywhere which caused another safety risk, the windows in room 301 have no locks and someone can easily open them from outside and gain access to your belongings while you're on the beach or boardwalk. Beware! The staff are shady and unethical. When I asked for Nick to be contacted Mookie said he didn't have a cellphone when I asked to speak to the owner Mookie said he didn't have a number either. Tell me one person you know in 2023 that doesn't have a cellphone or contact number. Just liars and thieves. Spare your family's well being and go elsewhere. I would not even give this place 1 star. Where do I begin, The website falsely advertised this hotel, This is the most disgusting motel ever first off it smells like animals AND cat urine, There's holes in the walls the bathroom is peeling paint everywhere and mold and mildew in the bathroom, we HAD to stay here or forfeit our vacation we traveled for days to get here, The beds are super hard and uncomfortable and try sleeping uncomfortably then waking up to facing the sun while all day( It ruined my vacation) We tried to deal with it the kitchen had only 1 working burner from 2, the toilets hardly flushed, the tub clogged completely we had to have management come unclog the shower it was clogged immediately upon us using it the ceiling had water stains on it, the bathroom was too small, One person will not fit comfortably, The windows are locked but can easily be broken into when opened they are off track, no screens bullet hole in bathroom Door. Pool is very small and there is constantly smell of drugs of some sort In The hallways. During our stay we had to cook the electric popped and half of our room the TV the kitchen the bathroom and the lights went out. The manager said it must have been the breaker..it took them 20 min to fix it, It's not worth your money it is close to the boardwalk but I'd prefer to sleep in my truck I will never ever stay here again I have pictures of all of this. Upon checking in we heard another family requesting refund due to having bugs. We did not see bugs of any sort thank God. I do not recommend anyone to stay here. You can hear others talking out front of your room the doors and the locks are very thin the doors stick the paint is chipping on all doors. My family wanted to visit the beach st the last minute for 4th of July weekend. This was one of the few hotels left when looking online. My fiance booked and then I read the reviews and panicked. Since nothing else had vacancy we gave it a shot despite the bad reviews and I'm so glad we did.

The hotel was clean, the two pools were clear and the staff were attentive and nice. The parking is tight but we always had a spot in the parking lot when we returned. We were provided with clean towels daily and it was plenty of them for a family of 4. They have security guards in the parking lots all evening, they were friendly and didn't seem to bother anyone. The hotel even provided soap and shampoo!!! The rooms are clean and updated. Yes the motel is a bit older, so the bathroom had some ugly tile and an old school metal tub/shower, but the water had pressure and was hot. We could walk to the beach in 5 minutes and we had an amazing extended holiday weekend.

I passed staff the first morning and the gentleman made it a point to ask how everything was and if we had any concerns. We lost a key card and they quickly replaced it for my kids and didn't charge us. (It was our fault)

There are grills on site (3) for use and the hotel offers two large pools with tons of lounge chairs. There is also a lot of outdoor tables with seating for your family to have meals together. We enjoyed a dinner on the rooftop deck.

The only thing disappointing about this hotel is they don't offer return customer discounts☹ We paid an insane nightly rate for the holiday weekend but the rates for the rest of the summer seem reasonable for...
