My wife and I needed a small snack and decided to stop in. We were basically the only people there, not surprising as it is off-season. The beer selection was limited, surprising since most WW restaurants offer many more craft beers, particularly local fare. I ordered the calamari and followed it with chili. My wife went with the New England clam chowder. If you’ve read any of my reviews, I always judge the kitchen’s talent with doing calamari right. It was good, but the breading didn’t stay on entirely. It was paired with a spicy aioli and a chunky tomato sauce. The aioli was slightly bitter, the tomato sauce needed to be a marinara. The chili was better - full of meat and had a moderate amount of heat. It came with tortilla chips. I would have like to have a nice roll and butter or some oyster crackers instead. The chowder was not thick but very flavorful and full of minced clam. However, it did not come with ANY crackers! The bartender (Steve) was excellent and found out he’s a lifelong local and lives around the block from me. He said that the place was rockin’ the night before due to the Phils post-season play. The place is huge, even sporting a pool ($10pp) and an outdoor bar. I know there will be future visits and...
Read moreI’ve been to a lot establishments with poor service, but this place is well below par. After a “miscommunication” about ordering food, the table had requested a manager because we were told we could order our food, and then were told never mind no we can’t because the kitchen wanted to leave. We were told ice cream can be ordered since that isn’t a cooked item, and when we ordered we were told we cannot order ice cream either. We were told “yup” with attitude any time we requested for a refill, plates, napkins, utensils, etc. We requested a manager to kindly bring these issues to their attention to let them know this isn’t necessarily how to run a business, and the manager sat at the bar talking to the waitress then sent the busser over to the table because he didn’t want to deal with it. Poor way of operating business especially when the manager himself is refusing to speak with paying customers to potentially get feedback that can help the...
Read moreWe live down the street during the summer so have stopped in a few times since it’s opening, but just for drinks. Finally got a chance to sit down and have dinner and it did not disappoint. Service was amazing (sadly did not remember the young man’s name) he was attentive and always checked back. The food was delicious. Large portions of everything. My husband got the filet (I advised against since he is picky and it seems like a bar setting when inside) but he said it was really good and cooked to his specifications!
Lighting is very dim and music is loud so I could see how it may sway some from normal walk ins. The table next to us were older and using a flash light on their phone to read the menu.
I think since new it’s very overlooked at this point. We will 100% be back.
Maybe during normal dining hours keep the lights up more and music down. It looks like a sports bar/club but seemed neither when dining… just...
