I stayed in this motel growing up, early 90's till early 00's, and my family always thought this motel was great. Great location in regards to the boardwalk, rooms were just right, good quality service. This year, after going through a lot in my life, I decided it was time to take my children to Wildwood New Jersey, for some good old fashioned fun, however, due to some things in my life, I require the assistance of a service dog, and when calling to make a reservation, I was told that I wasn't allowed to book a room if I was bringing my service dog. I suffer from battered women's syndrome, I am a domestic violence survivor, I have a service dog who helps me deal with severe panic and anxiety, as well as agoraphobia caused by severe trauma. I did message the motel via Facebook to try and explain the necessity of my service dog, and they still refused, told me they are very sorry that I can't live without my dog, but she doesn't perform a task. I explained several times what the task is, I have evidence which I was more than willing to provide, but they still refused. I have friends who are veterans who also travel with PTSD service dogs, and I asked if they would be refused as well, and they said those dogs don't perform a task, so they wouldn't be welcome in their motel. I understand there are people out there who are taking advantage, but my service dog performs a service for me, as well as my two children, she is trained and registered, what this motel did was illegal, against the ADA. I am deeply saddened by the fact that they discriminated against me, because of my illness. There are people out there with mental health issues that do require the aid of a service dog, not all service dogs are for the blind, or deaf. I am in no way seeking legal repercussion, even though I do indeed have the right to do so, but I am sharing because this hotel isn't accommodating to those with special needs. I did however find another hotel that has no problem in accommodating me, my family, and service dog, and gave me a better price as well. Me and my family have been long time customers of this hotel, we are saddened that we must break ties with this hotel, but I can not patronize a business who doesn't accept those with different...
Read moreWe stayed at the Seagull Motel for 3 nights in July 2025. Our family had 2 motel rooms. If in the area, I would stay here again.||In Wildwood there are a lot of 1950s style motels. This motel is of the 1950s era and is in excellent condition and very clean. The staff is fantastic!||I was welcomed every time I entered the office. The check-in and check-out process was smooth. The front office provides morning coffee at 8am. Later they switch over to providing lemon water.| |Note there is no elevator. We traveled with our grandmother who cannot climb stairs. We called ahead to be sure we booked rooms on the first floor. It limited our room options. The staff was very accommodating.| |The room is small but well designed. I selected this motel because the hotel rooms with 2 beds had 1 queen and 1 full. Most of the other motels in the area had 2 full beds. The bathroom had a shower and a square tub. It would be sufficient for giving small children a bath. There was 1 grab bar in the shower. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash are provided in pump bottles in the shower. The products were of high quality and a nice lavender scent. The room has a small refrigerator and a microwave. No coffee maker.| |The pool area was small but nice. The pool was in great condition. Pool hours are 10am until 8pm. Every evening and morning staff maintained the pool and thoroughly cleaned the area.| |The location is 1 block from the beach and the end of the Wildwood boardwalk. There is a hose to rinse off sand when returning from the beach. We could hose down our chairs, etc. There are also 2 full sized, very nice outdoor, private showers near the hose. They are not well marked but if you need a place to shower after the beach these are very clean and updated with nice tile. The outdoor shower can be an option if your room is crowded. ||The only downside was the in-the-wall air conditioner was loud. The room also included a dehumidifier that was also loud. I recommend you bring ear plugs.||There are a few restaurants within walking distance. The Little Italy restaurant across the street is recommended. We ate 2...
Read moreThis is our 3rd time staying at the Seagull and we absolutely LOVE it. With so many choices in Wildwood it's hard to know which are the good ones. I've stayed in ones that I couldn't even take my shoes off , yet were pricey. We have 5 kids and every year our kids beg to go back to the seagull, they always manage to make friends with other guests and the location is ideal. Ginny the owner is always willing to help and go out of her way to make sure her guests are having a good time and are comfortable, not to mention she's always there. It's commendable, as a business owner to see another business owner not just delegate jobs but to also get in and help. I overhead her ask one of her groundskeepers if they could use a hand. Also, Tom is one of the nicest , friendliest hardworking people. He was always so courteous to me and my children and went out of his way to make our youngest happy. It was nice talking to him and learning more about the area. We stayed in the new room, this year - " G room " and it was AMAZING. Plenty of room for the 7 of us , and we really enjoyed being able to go out on the picnic table right outside the door and eat or just hang out and talk to some other guests. I can't say enough positive about the Seagull. They really make you feel like family , and appreciate your business. We will continue to recommend to all and also stay here every year! See you next year and thanks for your...
