I want to start out by saying that I have stayed at the Caribbean motel several times, but this visit was by far the worst. When making my reservation for our stay the woman on the phone talked up all the renovations and updates they had done to “some” of the rooms with a kitchenette. Those rooms were an extra charge. Seeing as I was bringing my children along and needed somewhere to store milk and snacks I opted for this choice. Upon arrival I noticed that the room I was staying in was not the same as the “updated” version they were portraying in pictures on their website.
The pool has no lifeguard however closes at 8pm? I don’t understand how that makes sense. On a hot summer night walking back from the boardwalk my family wants to jump in the pool, but that was not an option. I would understand pool hours if they hired a lifeguard, but when it’s swim at your own risk this rule does not make any sense. My children were extremely disappointed!
We came down to Wildwood for a multi family vacation. Three rooms were booked. With a grand total of 8 children between all of us. Ranging in ages 15, 10, 8, 6, 5, 4, 2, and 1. The woman who works in the office yelled at our children MULTIPLE times for going near railings, and “running” on their property. My first issue is that there was no need to yell at our children because we were on top of it, and there were plenty adults around to take care of children. Second, why are the children being scolded for doing what children do while on vacation. I wish that when making my accommodations the lady would have gave me a fore warning that they have extremely strict policies where children were not allowed to be children. If the staff at the carribbean motel is so concerneded about children looking over their railings then maybe, just maybe they should fix them so that there is no possible way a child could fall through them.
I think ultimately the Caribbean motel needs to get it together. Their rates need to be lowered. They need to mind their own business and let their guests enjoy their vacation, and they need to review some of their staff and policies. While staying there I reviewed rates for both hotels across the street that were beachfront, and there rates were better with more things to offer.
Lastly, I would absolutely never recommend this motel to anyone staying in the wildwood area. And unfortunately it was such a bad experience that my whole family would never stay there again either , and this is usually our go to place. But now that our families have been expanding with children I think it’s time for us to find a better place that...
Read moreI never got the chance to stay at Caribbean Motel, this review is based on the booking process only. I booked a reservation for August via the motel’s website. I never received a confirmation email. I waited a few days and checked my spam folder but still nothing. I checked my credit card statement and there was no charge, so I thought perhaps I did something wrong and the reservation didn’t go through. So, I attempted to make the reservation again. And again, I didn’t get a confirmation email. I tried reaching out to the motel via phone a few times and also by email. Half the time when I called, no one answered, and I never got an email back. I was finally able to get a hold of someone on the phone who saw that I did in fact have two different reservations. This person said they don’t send out confirmation emails until the credit card is charged. The person cancelled one of reservations. Still, no confirmation email on any of this.
I checked my credit card statement last night and saw that I was finally charged for one night’s stay. And yet, still no confirmation email. And, yes, I checked my spam folder. Twice. At this point I was fed up. I called the motel and asked to cancel my reservation altogether. I asked for an email confirming the cancellation but I’m not holding out any hope that I’ll get one. I’ll just have to check my cc statement.
How on earth does a business operate this way? You don’t send an email until the credit card is charged? Yet you don’t charge it until nearly two weeks after the reservation was made? It’s a shame. This place looks so cute. I really wanted to stay here. But what a joke of a...
Read moreI started visiting the Caribbean Motel in 2014 and returned at least three other times. It was owned by a couple who showed pride in the motel and checked in with the guests to ensure they were having a good time. They even hosted free bbqs and drinks during our stays. Unfortunately it has been sold and the place is run down. Many of the colorful beautful lights that made the hotel look beautiful at night are out, the green carpeting around the walking areas have holes, and the bannisters are rusted.| |In the room, they have not been kept up. The drapes have holes and are stained, the bed spreads are musty and do not match with the theme of the room and the carpeting is brown and black with green walls, yellow furniture with blue chairs. The bathroom tub had mold all around.||Such a dissapointment. I think the worst thing was the pillows on the bed. They are wrapped in plastic, are so uncomfortable and make crunching noises when you move your head. ||In the past there was always someone with a ladder working on things around the hotel. Hopefully the new owners have a plan to shape up the place and, at the very least, make sure all of the colorful lights have bulbs.||Two good things are that they still have shuffleboard and doo wop music playing outside and in your room if...
