An able hotel in the wrong hands...
The staff doesn't care, the managers don't care, the product is run down, and I had food poisoning because of their IRD. The room I stayed in, had issues with the door lock, staff never helped. The flush at times did not work either. A colleague of mine had to be stranded at the lobby for more than an hour since his room door on 6th floor did not open and maintenance could not figure what to do!
I usually never goto write a 1 start review for a hotel, considering I am a hospitality professional myself. BUT THIS HOTEL - It's not a hotel, it is something altogether different.
I have never seen such a pathetic team working together under one roof. Right from the Front Office - who denied to give me a bottle of water at 4 am, since the water bottles in my room (500 ml x 2 bottle) were finished, and told me that I will only get it by 10:30 am, to the barman who is always absent, to the restaurant IRD who answers the phone and then keeps the receiver aside - the only good part is the housekeeping team who are courteous, smiling and deliver on time.
There are 4 elevators, one does not have lights and works slow, other two don't work, and the fourth one makes too much noise, and goes at a speed slower than a snail. You will always find a minimum 10-15 people waiting for the elevators at the lobby level.
Don't bother ordering from their room app - it does not work, and it does not do anything at all. I had ordered and waited for over 2 hours, called the in room dining atleast 7 times, and then finally had to go down from the 11th floor in the god foresaken elevator to ask for my order, and was surprised to know that it was never received!! I ordered for french fries and an apple strudle pie, it gave me extreme stomach ache and immediate loose motions. The food quality is a huge question mark.
Never think that they would replenish their buffet breakfast, and if they do, it is with a lot of attitude! In the 5 days that I spent there, not even once did I see the breakfast buffet spread entirely maintained, nor did I see the tables being clean or serviced. Pathetic condition overall.
The banquet hall was okay, and the finger food served was average.
The biggest advantage with this hotel is it's location, but I would rather suggest the Wyndham right opposite or they Hyatt right beside, depending on the budget. You may easily pass this, unless you wish to experience some heavy nightmares! Except for the Front Office Manager who upon understanding the problem, atleast apologized for the night staff's rude behaviour to serve water - none of them care who you are or where you are from.
You wish to experience hospitality? Come,...

Read moreI was initially excited for my stay here but left very disappointed and wouldn’t pick it again. They did offer a nice airport pick up service which worked seamlessly and despite my very early arrival they were happy to provide access to the room for a fee. Beyond that though there was little which left me impressed…||The decor throughout the hotel, which is traditional luxury style, is starting to show it’s age and feels a little dated now. My room was a twin offering (despite having booked a double) and being on the fourteenth floor had nice views over the city. Many of the fixtures were wonky though, including lamps, which really detracts from a five star vibe. In the bathroom the shower head above the bath wasn’t great plus there was quite a bit of mould around the bath itself. The towels were very poor quality, there was no real guidance in the room to the hotel’s services and it seemed half the room service menu was missing. Two bottles of water were provided and a kettle, although the mini bar was empty.||Given the hot weather one of the main reasons for booking this hotel was the outdoor pool, but this continued the disappointment. The whole area felt like a building site, with areas sectioned off, seats / beds out of place etc. There’s no bar outside but I did spot one person wandering by so asked if it was possible to get a beer - I was told I’d have to go into the restaurant and order it myself, which I did but then there was no ability to charge to the room.||One evening as I was leaving the hotel I asked at reception if it was possible to get the mini bar in my room stocked up, only to be told I’d have to buy drinks from the lobby bar myself. Which I tried to do, only to be told they don’t serve beer or wine, only spirits. On another evening I thought I’d try the restaurant out - I entered and stood around for a bit waiting to find a member of staff but with no luck, so gave up.||All in all this hotel lacks any of the five star service you’d expect and while it might have been great back in the day it could do with an uplift now. There’s a lot of potential but I’ll try somewhere else next...
