We are staying here for 6 nights, this is the 4th day. Get what you pay suppose, the staff are very very nice as Vietnam hospitality standard, but it is still very frustrating of the incompetence and quite different common sense and understanding, definitely language is the barrier.
The 1st day we arrived, we got the room with bath tub room, and queen bed as we requested, but the cleanliness of the room is quite disappointed, floor was quite dusty, no bathroom floor mat, so we got to use one of the towel. Safe box is broken that we found out the next day, we thought it was just the battery matter.
The breakfast is basic but which is perfectly fine, choices of noodles, eggs, pancakes toast, from the menu, and the fruits, coffee and tea are self serve. The 1st day, my partner asked for omelette, the staff were not sure, said that they call egg roll, which is on their menu, fine. Then the next day, ordered with another staff for omelette, she brought us fried egg, we said to her, we ordered omelette, then she responded….. “oh, that we call egg roll” ….. fine, today, I ordered FRIED EGG with sausage and bacon, and we did get fried eggs, but no sausage and bacon…..
Feed up not really because the barrier of the language, but is the incompetency, and they always give excuses for our basic request and questions.
The staff are incredible nice, but really hope they could polish their basic knowledge of hospitality.
Location wise, is in the centre of old quarter, very convenient to walk around the whole old part of the city, but bare in mind, the pavement condition is not exist, at all, you are force to walk with all the cars and motorcycles...
Read moreA big No to this place. We have booked this place from Hostelworld after enquiring with the host directly. But after making the reservation host declined the booking on WhatsApp mentioning some other booking they accepted. She asked me to cancel. But since Hostelworld didn't give cancellation option, I asked her to do. That was not done instead she suggested an alternative hotel for the first day and shared the details. She asked me to pay the difference in amount for a day stay. As it was having good review and didn't want to spend much time in booking we decided to choose that option. We have reached Hanoi on a Sunday afternoon, to Little Town directly as this host suggested. Upon reaching there they suggested some tour packages for next day and gave welcome drinks. We weren't informed about any changes. After accepting the payments for the tours (which they get more commission than that of stay). They have taken to the hotel, which they suggested for first day. Which was completely different from what was discussed over the call & chat by the host. Host never accepted the calls as it was a clear cheating attempt we identified earlier itself. We again came back to same hotel after bargaining longer there they have agreed to refund booking amount & other tour amount we have paid. First day of trip was spoiled by these cheaters. Never never go here!!! With the help of some other Vietnamese guests in the same hotel we were able to search and find much better place in...
Read moreI had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The staff were very polite, friendly, and consistently gave the best service of any hotel or hostel I have stayed at.
Even though the streets in the area can get very busy, with people walking shoulder to shoulder while visiting the street markets, I never heard any noise from the street during the time I spent in my second floor room.
One of the highlights of my stay at this hotel was the breakfast. There was always tea, coffee, an assortment of fresh fruit like banana, watermelon, dragon fruit, and sometimes passion fruit,. Guests could usually enjoy toast with jam, cereal, some of the best fried rice I've ever had, or stir-fried noodles. Every morning, a guest could order one specialty dish from a menu: options included beef phở, chicken phở, scrambled eggs, and spring rolls.
The staff provided me with a map highlighting nearby attractions, advised me on where to go to get the best rates on changing money, and even helped a fellow guest and I get a free guided tour to a local museum. (We only had to cover the museum's entrance fee, which was quite affordable.)
I am not a fan of the tipping culture of North America, but my time here made me glad to support the staff with a tip. Stay here for a good rest, fantastic breakfast, excellent service, and to be within close walking distance to the lake - where performances involving dancing and signing are very common, especially from...
