Stayed for 3 nights in Superior Double room ( Room # 602 for 1st 2 nights - accessible with narrow staircase after 5th floor & Room # 502 for the 3rd night - accessible with elevator) The room was very small, just about 9 Sq. meters & the shower/toilet area about 3 Sq meters, so total approx 12 Sq meters instead of 20 Sq. meters promoted on Booking.com & other most hotel rsvn portals. Pics taken are with wide angle camera, so rooms appear to be bigger. Also, no seating area, no place to store baggage, no desk, no place to hang clothes anywhere in the room. Very crammed overall. But all modern amenities are offered. Rooms are clean with very comfortable beds, electric kettle, wide wall mounted flat screen TV. powerful AC, fan, & hot shower etc. The fridge hardly cools as beer cans take 10+ hours to chill. The b'fast is very basic set menu, a big disappointment . You can choose only one of the 10 options offered along with 2 variants of cut fruits, watery juices, tea/coffee. We had Omlette Bread & it's cooked next to the reception desk which appears to be crazy. Only 2 tables & 10 chairs in dining area for b'fast, adds to waiting time. The front desk team of Amy & Brian are very helpful & try to make yor stay comfortable. When we were checking out, we were offered a chilled water bottle complimentary to make our journey to the airport a bit more comfortable - really warm gesture. The hotel is a bit hard to locate in spite of being in the touristy area of Old Quarter as it is almost hidden behind the local shops & houses & accessible via a narrow alley, about 25-30 meters off the Ngo Gach Street. It is approx 500 meters from the Airport Transfer Bus stop, just 6-7 minutes walk away. The night markets are just 2 minutes way from the hotel & Hoan Kiem Lake & surrounding area, just 10 minutes walk away. Lot of dining options nearby. Including Indian Restaurant - Tandoor. For local Vietnamese cuisine, we enjoyed food at V Cuisine on Hang Giay Street, 2 minutes further of Bach Ma Temple & another place, 72-Ma May Street.|| ||Overall, a good stay but above points to be considered while making a...
Read moreBooked here with my partner through booking.com. Contacted the hotel through the number they provide for the hotel. We sent so many messages and eventually got a reply hours later stating it was the correct number. Then we got no reply after that and couldn’t call them either. Wanted to just to let them know we would be checking in late which it says you can do at this hotel no problem. We heard nothing from them for hours and our flight was delayed. Got to the hotel at 2am and were told there was no room at the hotel and that he has been sending lots of messages to us through “agoda”. Which makes no sense since we used booking.com and had some replies through WhatsApp. We don’t even have an agoda account.
He said there was a room at another hotel he reserved for us 6 min walk away. Milton Boutique Hotel. We got there and were shown to a room. It’s now 3am… This room 201, at Milton boutique (also has many negative reviews including this room specifically) and it has mould on the ceiling, poor air on, mouldy shower. No window and the air was difficult to breathe. No pillows on the bed and no towels either. The staff at Milton were friendly but we said we could not stay in a room that mouldy, Especially when a previous guest said they were hospitalised from mould exposure after staying in that exact room.
All round shambles and we ended up having to stay in a random hotel down the street that we luckily found by chance.
Really negative experience even though the staff at golden hotel was friendly and said - “don’t worry there is a nice big room with double bed at this other hotel” as he showed us it on the map.
We payed for a room, we arrived and there was no room. It says you can check in whenever. But you can’t contact them? Should probably be removed from booking.com. Worst experience we’ve had on ur...
Read moreBeware! Especially if you’re travelling solo and going to check in late (around midnight).
Their listing says they’re open 24/7 and even though you inform them you’d arrive by 1-2 am, you’ll find them close.
I booked a room and informed them of my estimated arrival time and I even asked them if they have airport transport at that hour.
But when I got to reception, the glass door was closed/locked, the lights were off also.
I didn't know what to do. It was in the dead of the night and I was alone.
I sent a chat on agoda saying the reception is closed. But they did not reply.
I went out to the front gate cos the reception is closed and sent a whatsapp to Tony and never got any reply either.
I had no choice but to find another hotel to stay in.
I walk around the neighborhood so nervous especially I’m a woman and there were men laughing so loudly nearby.
Good thing I found another hotel.
But daytime came and I asked agoda for a refund but this hotel gaslighted me saying they have a black bell that I should’ve rang.
But they didn’t tell me about the black bell at all.
I gave them headsup prior my arrival (during booking and inquiry about airport transport) but they never informed me that they would be closed around my arrival time so I had to ring the black bell.
They made it my fault and didn’t refund that night’s booking cos they said they kept it for me (but didn’t provide me the means to check in).
Very unprofessional and disappointing for customers.
I felt so scared being out alone and with loud men nearby.
I was almost running when I was looking for a new hotel to stay in just so they won’t be able to come after me.
I don’t recommend at all. This is a good way to...
