During my trip to Vietnam in August 2023, I stayed at 3 hotels in Hanoi, Hoi An & Saigon. This was the best stay we had. The hotel is at the heart of Old quarters. We had taken 2 Deluxe rooms for 5 nights(1 with walk-in shower and 1 with tub). We were given adjacent rooms as requested. The hospitality of the front desk team headed by Lucy stands out. Early check in was not available on our date of check in. Lucy welcomed us and made us comfortable at the reception area with welcome drink & snacks. Lucy gave us an overview of the area with list of attractions and restaurants. Maps were also given for reference. I have not experienced this anywhere else and it is very helpful. The events that would happen in the area during our period of stay was also conveyed.
Since our rooms were not ready, we left for our sightseeing once the check in formalities were completed. Our luggage was taken to be kept in the rooms at the scheduled check in time. Elevator is available. The rooms were spacious and clean. Kettle, water, Vietnamese tea/coffee sachets were provided. Vietnamese Tea is flavored so its different from Indian tea and might not be tasty. The AC was working well. The bathrooms are also spacious. There was hot water available with toiletries. Housekeeping is done daily.
The complementary buffet breakfast cuisine were Vietnamese & English. Even though Halal options were limited, the array had a lot of items like Tea, Coffee(hot/cold), condensed milk, hot/cold milk, cornflakes, muesli, chocos, Juices, Pancakes, Noodle soup, vegetable salads, fruits, bread, toast, eggs(boiled, scrambled, omelet(indian/french)), yoghurt, pastries, cakes, pickles, salad dressings, sprouts, sticky rice, veg & non-veg dishes, soup. Kudos to the service of the male staff at the restaurant(I forgot his name :(). He catered to our requests and even packed us breakfast when we had to leave early for our day trips and airport.
Lucy arranged cab to Ninh Binh & Ha Long Bay for our day trips at affordable rates. The cab driver arranged a very good and reasonable five star day cruise at Halong Bay.
When we returned from Ninh binh, the car could not go inside Old quarter as the road leading to the hotel had turned to food street as conveyed. Since my phone was switched off and could not navigate to hotel using Google Maps, the driver informed the situation to the hotel. Hotel staff came in scooter to accompany us back to hotel.
After reaching airport, we realized that we missed a bag at the hotel lobby while checking out. Lucy was on her day off but she got the front office staff to send it through a delivery person to airport. There was language barrier and the hotel staff helped in connecting with the delivery person. They displayed Hospitality excellence beyond expectations.
Overall, the stay was very comfortable and a perfect example of how tourist friendly a...

The hotel is excellent value for money. We booked a suite for a weekend getaway and it did not disappoint. The room was a great size with a separate living area and the bathroom was huge with a roll-top bath and a shower which could fit 4. Towels were changed daily. Complimentary water, tea/coffee, and toiletries topped up each day. The bed was comfortable, and the breakfast offered lots of choice. The location of the hotel is also good with attractions, bars and restaurants all within walking distance.
However, what made this stay for us, was the staff. They are hands down the most welcoming and helpful staff we have ever had the pleasure of meeting. We’ve both travelled extensively and these guys are second to none. As an LGBTQ couple, we can be weary when travelling as our presence isn’t always well received. However, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel at home. From handwritten, personalised messages with our bedtime chocolates, to Rosie on the front desk giving us a ton of information on everything and anything we needed. Ken and Neo in the restaurant were amazing. One morning, when getting to breakfast at the tail end, they made us fresh coffee and a fruit platter to take up (even though we’d managed to get something from the buffet). Not only that, they had some great suggestions on where we might like to visit that day (and they were right).
We visited during rainy season, but an umbrella was ready and waiting for us when we looked to go out in the evening. Amy and Chloe were even kind enough to allow us late check-out free of charge despite the new guests arriving an hour later. It really was a 5 star experience and we’ve agreed, if we have another getaway in Hanoi, we’ll be back.
Don’t hesitate with this...
Read moreThe boutique is a 3.5 stars. The rooms are nicely decorated in a traditional European/french colonial style. But while the Executive room looks the nicest from photo and it is very large and spacious, it doesn’t have a shower only a bathtub. Because of that we ended up, asking to switch to a room with a standup shower for the second night. The staff was very gracious and accommodated our request. We were upgraded to a room on the seventh floor with a balcony. While the room itself was smaller, what was most important for me and my husband was standup shower. The reception staff speaks very good English, and the service was outstanding. They helped us get VIP 3rd row tickets for the Thang Long water puppet show at the last minute. location. The staff also arranged for a private tour of Hanoi city with Backstreet Tours. Breakfast was very good in their nicely decorated restaurant. They have a buffet, but you can also special order eggs, pho noodles, and pancakes. The main downside is the location unless you want to be in the middle of the Old Quarter which is noisy but bustling with nighttime activity. So if you are a young person who wants to party, eat street food, then this may be a good location for you. Not so much for older retired couples who might want something a bit quieter. One thing that was a really good tip that they provided was to bargain with the vendors selling items on the street. We were told to offer half of what the vendors were asking. I sure wish that someone had told us this in Hoi An. LOL. 😆 If the price and the bustling activity is for you, then this is definitely a good place to stay. (While the hotel has a spa, it did not have a pool, which would’ve been really nice because it was sweltering in the mid 90s when we were here towards the...
