Hanoi Buffalo Hostel — Hotel in Hà Nội

Clean and tidy hostel with friendly staff. I booked the Ha Giang Loop with Buffalo and it was amazing the easy riders really look after you and do everything they can to help you and make sure you have the best time possible on the trip. Quang was our group leader and he was so friendly and amazing and made the trip seem really organised once we got to the buffalo hostel in ha Giang the next morning. The trip is a good balance between social and relaxing so no pressure to drink loads every night but if you want to join in you can. There is elbow and knee pads provided and of course helmets. The only negative thing I have to say is the bus ride to Ha Giang for me seemed really unorganised. We had a mini bus take 4 of us from the hostel to the Night Bus and there was no instruction or saying where we were being taken to. We then stayed in this random ho stay which wasn’t very clean and seemed to be in the middle of nowhere. If I had been completely by myself I wouldn’t have felt safe (whilst there were some of the group who stayed in the buffalo hostel in ha Giang there was about 7 of us who were out in the random home stay), so just a little more communication about that part would have been great. Overall I would really recommend booking the loop...

Cat Ba Buffalo Hostel is hands down one of the best places to stay on Cat Ba Island. From the vibrant and lively atmosphere to the excellent service, this place has it all. Stayed in their dorm for a couple of nights. This place is located at a relatively quiet place in a rather loud street. I had initially booked a bigger dorm, however, on the name of "upgrading", they moved me to a 6-member dorm. Don't really know if moving from a bigger dorm to a 6-member dorm was an "upgrade" or their way of putting all people from the same country in the same room. Nevertheless, it was clean and comfortable, so would not complain. The rooms and bathrooms are cleaned twice a day.

I refrained from their free beer and free walking tour. I instead chose to tour around the spots myself with the help of online audio-guides. The breakfast is excellent and is a steal for the price. One could also get a towel for a deposit of 100k VND, which is returned swiftly when checking out.
