I have been here twice. Once before Lunar New Year, and once right after Tet. Both times were very satisfied. It feels quite surprising to discover that in the heart of Hanoi's bustling Old Quarter, there is a charming hidden restaurant like this. I like La Lot's enthusiasm in creating Vietnamese fussion food - a smart way to make Vietnamese dishes easily accessible, easily conquering international guests.
All dishes come in small portions, making it easy to enjoy many dishes in one meal. The highlight is that each dish has its own sauce and dipping sauce, preserving the "dipping" characteristic of most Vietnamese dishes.
Maybe you don't know, Lá Lốt is mean "piper lolot", lolot leaves are often used in some typical dishes in Vietnamese cuisine. The most popular dishes using lolot leaves are vermicelli with minced pork patties grilled with lolot leaves and grilled beef with...

We ordered the beef with la lot sauce and they brought steak and chips with mushroom sauce. We asked them if we could change it for the la lot sauce as mentioned on the menu which is when they told us that they didn't have it...LOL
The steak comes on a hot plate the waiter asked how we would like the steak. We requested medium rare and they didn't know what they were doing so we had to ask them to stop cooking it as it would be over cooked. They disagreed and continued. Read moreFood: the food is good. It’s pretty nicely seasoned and not oily.
Service: the staffs are good and friendly but the SLA for food is like years! 😅 We have to wait for sooooooooo long for all the food to be served despite our order is really simple (3 vegan dishes, 2 chickens and 1 fried rice).
Atmosphere: we arrived around 12.30 noon however It’s not crowded at all. This place may be famous for night-dining rather than daytime. The spacious table are fit for a group of friends/family contains 4-5people.
Price: around 200k/dish. Which is not bad in this old quarter area.
Parking: highly recommend to take cabs 🤣 otherwise it’s gonna make you crazy to find parking alots for motors. (It’s a thing in old quarter, you don’t get to park that easily)
Overall it’s good but not like “good 🥰🥰”. It’s a “good 😅” but this place not gonna be my top of mind. Deserves a...
