Probably the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed… it’s old and has poor hygiene. There was clump of hair in the toilet and splash of urine when I lifted up the toilet cover. Obviously they hadn’t cleaned it after the last guest checked out… so I was already feeling quite displeased… Water pressure was very low but hot water was flowing consistently so it’s ok. Towels were very old and I couldn’t be sure if it’s clean to use. So I used the towel that I bought along to this trip. This is the first time I had to use my own towel in this trip (this is my last night in vietnam). Worst nightmare to me is I saw a cockroach on top of the bed when I was about to turn off the light and sleep… tried to call the reception and found that the phone was very dirty and the line was breaking as I was talking to the reception. Anyway, he came for rescue and double checked there was not anymore cockroach behind the bed, so that gave me a little bit of assurance. As I pulled out the blanket, I saw a patch of brownish mark on the bedsheet… thought it was dirts but it seemed to be just burnt mark from iron… I got so anxious that I had to double check everything before going to sleep, only to found that there was a little bug on the bed…. Really wanted to book another hotel but then there was only 5 hours left before I would leave, so I just tried to hang in there. And I’m not sure if it’s the raindrop hitting the rooftop or what. Throughout the whole night there was this sound of footsteps on the staircases, which was quite loud. The only good things about this hotel is the friendly reception with a good smile, and it’s convenient location to the bus stops. I will never stay in this...
Read moreRoom was pretty clean, super nice staff, very welcoming and helpful. The beds were really nice to sleep in and they had some basic toiletries ready on arrival.
However, the rooms were very noisy. You could here guests talking and walking through the corridors. There was also a lot of noise coming from outside the hotel, straight through the windows (while obviously closed). You can here the traffic from the street while we slept on the opposite side of the hotel. Maybe they could do some extra sound proofing. The elevator was quite small, and couldn’t fit two people with backpacks, but I found that that wasn’t a problem.
It is a great hotel for backpackers who want to have some comfortable nights on a great location in Hanoi. Definitely would recommend if you sleep through...
Read moreWe stayed with Hanoi Elpis Grand Hotel in September 2022. The rooms very clean, and the staff courteous. The best part of this hotel is the location - it is super close to the Lake area (couple of minutes walk) and has bus stops to the airport right outside. We met Tyra, who manages the place and had a great experience with her - she’s well informed, incredibly helpful and went out of her way to get us things that we needed and help us communicate with the local cab drivers etc (very well versed in English). We had a great experience staying at this place and would recommend if you’re a group of friends visiting Hanoi and are looking for something...
