Location is great and is walking distance to places especially in the Old Quarter. The hotel architecture is keeping with the traditional places found in the area and is charming. The rooms were big and had numerous amenities like shower and bathtub, mini ref, hair dryer, coffee/tea facilities. Breakfast was buffet style during the weekend and order all you can on weekdays. They have a slightly limited selection and is more geared towards an asian palette. There's toast, eggs, sausage and cereal though. Staff was very friendly and easily arranged a Ha Long bay trip for us and they pointed us where to eat the best vietnamese food.||They do need to improve their housekeeping. Towels that were placed in our room had rips and runs and we had to have it replaced twice during our stay. Also cups at the coffee and tea service still had a slight coffee stain.||Also choose rooms with a higher number per floor (ie 205,206..) as these look to be a more recent construction/extension. My brother and I stayed at lower number room and the cabinet while looking great as an antique also smelled like an antique so we did not use it. Also the ACU and ref seemed to be an older model. My parents room with a higher room number had a new cabinet,...
Read moreHow this hotel is rated 3 star I have no idea. Very few staff speak any English at all. None of them work at night.||We were booked in here for 2 nights as a part of a tour we were on with Hoi An Express Tours. We also booked 3 additional nights at the end of our tour. Big mistake!||Our first night, the foul smell from the bathroom kept us awake, despite closing the door and opening the windows. Our complaint was met that they had no other rooms available, and they would attend to it in the morning. We checked out the next morning for a night at Ha Long Bay. Emails to the tour company complaining went unanswered. Upon our return, we had a different room, which had no smell but was quite dark unless the lights were on, to open the blinds on the window, which opened onto an atrium, meant the room on the other side could see straight into our room.||The breakfast buffet was very limited, not very good, and run out of good often.||Our attempt to order room service one evening was met with being hung up on twice, my wife took the room service menu to reception and showed what we wanted to order, only to be met with blank looks and eventually being told "no room service".||My...
Read moreNot too far from all the places you would like to visit (20 minutes walk / 10 minutes drive), this hotel is (very conveniently) centrally located (since most of the tourist-frequented places are located in the opposite direction to each other). Clean, Elegant and Cozy ambiance made our stay very comfortable.||||As opposed to few comments here, all the amenities were in perfect condition, and working perfectly . ||||For a foreign traveler, especially those who don't speak Vietnamese, Bella Vita Hotel's friendly (always smiling) staff are ever ready to share the right information in English....so feel free to ask them anything. ||||Breakfast, though not grand, was just perfect, and had something for everyone. In fact, one note of appreciation for the Hotel staff for packing a perfect breakfast for us at 4 am in the morning on our request as we had to catch an early morning flight to Da Nang. Its something that we have never experienced so far. ||||If we ever return to this wonderful city (which we will definitely), we are definitely...
