I wouldn't recommend this hotel.
We paid a relatively large amount of money for a twin room ($94 for four nights), so expected a bit more service and luxury than usual.
First off, we were charged $15 for an airport pick-up, while the sign on their reception desk stated a price of $12 for a taxi to the airport. The taxi driver also wasn't waiting for us with a sign (as was communicated beforehand), so we had to call the hotel manager to ask where our driver was.
However, this was unfortunately just the start. When we arrived (at 23 in the evening) we received the key to a room with a double bed. We went back to the reception and were informed by the manager Ms Spring (over the phone) that the twin room we booked wasn't available due to a blocked toilet. These things can happen of course, but it would have been nice to know before we arrived so we could still decide to book another hotel that had a twin room available. When we asked why she didn't let us know before we arrived, she simply said "I didn't want to confuse you, but just go to sleep now, it's 11 PM. Tomorrow I will give you a better room, and if you're not okay with this you can go somewhere else". I found this extremely rude. As it was already 23:30, we just accepted it and went to the room.
The room had a bad smell, and a very tiny bathroom with a shower placed in between the sink and the toilet without any walls, resulting in the whole bathroom getting wet every time you shower. There was also mold under the aircon. When I rolled over in the middle of the night, one of the supporting bars fell out of the bed (which was understandable once we saw how they were installed, they didn't fit at all). We fixed it ourselves, but this is obviously not acceptable.
The next day we were moved to a different room as promised, which was a bit nicer than the room we originally booked (as it had a window and was not on the ground floor). This would've been fine, but we got reminded of our "free upgrade" every time we talked to the manager at the reception, like we should be very thankful for it, while it was actually just because we didn't get the room we booked for the first night.
Overall, not a good experience and we would not...
Read moreWe booked this place because of the location and the ‘cleanliness’ (according to the reviews). The location was good and the room seems to match with the price we paid for. However we ran into some problems: the room has no windows there was a cockroach in the bathroom and when we asked the staff to remove it they said ‘it’s not dangerous’. We came back and found the cockroach dead (and also a few more in the hallway), so I believe that they used the insecticide (which made me feel unsafe to sleep in due to chemicals as the room has no windows) the body gel provided was almost empty and after asking the staff two times to refill it, they didn’t do it until our last night the bathroom is very badly designed, they put the shower right in the middle of the small bathroom, meaning that once you shower, everything will be wet including the toilet and toilet paper etc., no place to hang your dry clothes either. No bath mat provided. the main entrance does not have any security mechanism, meaning that everyone can walk in at anytime. The room door itself also just has a simple lock, so we felt a bit unsafe. Also One night we heard super loud noise from constant arguments in the lobby that woke us up at 3am, not sure if those were made by hotel guests...
Read moreFor the price, this was a decent hotel. The whole hotel smells like drying paint /chemicals. The shower was right in front of the toilet, so there was no choice about soaking the entire bathroom floor and most of the toilet if you wanted to take a shower. On the plus side, built-in shower chair if you want to sit on the toilet and shower at the same time! This is a busy street and at night it becomes very loud, at least on the weekend when we were there. It was difficult to sleep through with all the noise but thankfully the AC was very loud and helped to block out the noise. The staff didn't check us in correctly so they didn't know we were there and ended up coming into our room around 11:30 p.m. when we were sleeping to look for the key. Thankfully my husband and I were both there and immediately woke up and the staff member apologized profusely and walked out. He explained the situation in the morning. If I had been by myself or with another female traveler that would have creeped me out. Another good thing, we didn't see any bugs here! Overall, I'd recommend spending a little bit more money and staying...
