Very nicely presented hotel room with a beautiful headboard on the bed. Bed was really comfy and big! |TV was nice and big with Internet connection so we could use YouTube and there was a wide variety of TV channels including Western ones.|Bathroom had a great shower head and everything was super clean.|There is also a safe in the room you can use.|Staff were really friendly and attentive including the lady on reception and guy on the door /bell boy. |Our room was more pricey than all the others we stayed in Vietnam but we wanted to treat ourselves on the last night before we flew home. |This hotel has a nice touch of luxury and is in a great location which is a short walk to the markets and central areas of Hanoi.|Worth a stay for more comfort!||However, the fridge in the room never got cold and I think it gets switched off if you don't have the room key in the slot.... Bit of a problem if you need to keep things cold all day. |I didn't use the Jacuzzi but saw it on the basement floor, it's not really advertised much by the hotel and I can see why as it doesn't look very clean and enticing. |Not really a bad reflection on the staff or hotel but we asked for our taxi to the airport to be booked for 3pm and it arrived...
Read moreTraveled to Vietnam for a couple of weeks to visit a friend who is now living out there. Spent a few days in Hanoi and we stayed in the Lavender Old Quarter Hotel. Arrived too early to check in but the guys at reception were incredibly helpful and allowed us to drop our things off so we could go and explore. Location is great, just on the edge of the old quarter area so all the madness and fun is just around the corner!||||Check in was easy. The room itself was clean and modern with everything you would expect. Bathroom was really nice, air conditioning was great, which is definitely a necessity. If I had to suggest any sort of downside with the room it would be the lack of window, but for me that was no big issue!||||Breakfast was perfectly fine, eggs, toast, cold meat, fruit etc. Staff were fantastic, very helpful and welcoming. If/when next in Hanoi would definitely...
Read moreMoved here from other hotel in the city on the day with no notice, caused us to miss an attraction on one of few days. When got to room windows and doors didn't shut fully or correctly so felt unsafe. Breakfast made our floor smell foul. Staff appear friendly but sometimes pushy ie demanding we sit down when we obviously don't want to!
Last of all, upon leaving hotel was charged twice for the stay! Once realised once we were out of country. Emailed the hotel as website suggests - nothing back - had to text the manager to discuss to which he has told me that they have not had the money twice and that my proof from my bank account is incorrect and has said nothing else on the manner! Really annoying and frustrating.
Real shame as was only bad part of our stay in Hanoi.
(Oh and bathroom...
