Gemini Saigon Luxury — Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City

We booked 2 hotel rooms a month earlier. They only gave us the pay at the property option. Even when I tried paying online, I couldn't do so. However, when I chat with them, they told me I could drop off luggage. Thus, on the day of arrival, we went there to drop off the luggage and the lousy receptionist took the picture of our passports. We wanted to pay at that time but she denied and told us to pay after 2pm. There was a policy board in the hotel that says if the payment doesn't get thru, they will gold our booking until 4pm and just to be on safe side, we rectified with the receptionist and she did say YES. Around 3pm -3.15pm, we came to the hotel to check in and they conveniently told out booking has been cancelled as the payment couldn't get thru my payment card. We were confused because by right they only need to hold a certain amount as the option is only pay at the property. We immediately updated the card again and they actually cancelled the booking right in front us. When we confronted, another lady (not sure if the manager ) came and told the credit card is under another person's name (my husband) and the booking is under my name so they can't accept. Isn't that lousy? We were already there and we wanted to PAY AT THE PROPERTY as per mentioned in the booking and they declined. When I checked again regarding the policy, the so-called manager claimed the policy is only for the walk-in customers. We did ask why did you even agree to keep our luggage and even took our passports when we didn't even pay yet. We left the hotel without a proper explanation. Honestly, worst experience ever....

Be: warned. If you book this hotel does not mean you get your room. They will say they're no room and ask you go to their sister hotel about a 5 min walk. Also note that don't leave any shopping you do in the room as I had some items stolen which they denied. While the location is in a quiet alley away from hustle and bustle of the main luxury hotel that the only good thing about the hotel. As we stayed here we notice many other customers who seem up have been brought over most likely from the luxury hotel. They seem to be dodgy n fill up lower end rooms to what you paid for.
