I work at QCH and this place is my local for coffee and avocado on sourdough. I would give 4 stars however, the avo on sourdough is never made consistently and I have been once served with diced, ripe avo placed on the normal bread with no feta on top.. I wish I have more photos to show how inconsistent this dish can be served but it still edible and better than the other places I’ve tried in the area for the price. The coffee and hot chocolate is the best in the hospital area, but again, depends on the day and barista.

Nice outside seating area as well as seats inside, seemed busy but the wait wasn't too long. Wouldn't recommend the frappe though, wasn't very thick/icy and didn't have whipped cream on top. It looked so runny that I double checked it was a frappe and they said that's how it's made. Also had the ham & cheese croissant so would probably come back to try something else.

If you happen to be near the Mater Hospital and maybe need a stress break away from all things hospitals. This is the place to go!!! Staff are incredible. So kind and thoughtful and upbeat. All round brilliant. Coffee and food also great. Wheelchair and stroller accessible. Also the toilet 🚾

One of the standout features of Under the Clock Cafe is undoubtedly the outstanding coffee brewed using Bear Bones Coffee beans. The coffee exudes excellence, with a robust flavor profile that is both rich and satisfying. The careful selection of Bear Bones Coffee beans reflects the commitment to quality at Under the Clock, truly elevating the entire experience.

The menu offers a diverse range of snacks and light meals, featuring a delightful array of wraps, fresh sandwiches, and chicken schnitzel toasties that are nothing short of amazing. The combination of fresh, locally sourced produce adds a layer of freshness and quality to each dish.

What truly stood out, however, was the exceptional customer service provided by the friendly staff. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with genuine smiles and a warm welcome. The staff members were not only attentive but also went the extra mile to ensure that every customer felt valued and well taken care of. Their product knowledge was impressive, and they were more than willing to provide recommendations based on individual preferences.

The cafe's commitment to preserving the historic origins of the South Brisbane Municipal Chambers is commendable. The ambiance is a perfect blend of nineteenth-century character and charm, and it's evident that extensive care has been taken to maintain the architectural integrity of this heritage-listed building.

Under the Clock Cafe is a must-visit destination for those seeking a unique cafe experience that seamlessly combines history, excellent coffee, and...

Went for brekkie here with my wife last weekend. First impressions were alright—clean tables, cosy vibe, a few older locals reading the paper, which is usually a good sign. We ordered a flat white and a long black, both of which were pretty decent in terms of strength and flavour, though they could've been a tad hotter. Food-wise, I had the bacon and egg roll, and my wife went for the ricotta hotcakes. The roll had a good bite to it—crispy bacon and runny yolk, exactly how I like it. The hotcakes were fluffy and not overly sweet. The only gripe was the wait time; we were waiting around 25 minutes for our meals, even though the place wasn’t packed. Staff were friendly enough, just a bit under the pump it seemed. Overall, not mind-blowing but not...

Facts - after 15 mins today I checked where was my takeaway coffee. Oh we seem to have misplaced it. I was immediately given a coffee tipped from another cup into mine , poured the hot milk from a jug and finished with chocolate powder. As I walked away I tasted it and it was like a thin watery vanilla milkshake. So I returned it and was made a fresh coffee which tasted better, but still not a distinct coffee taste. Not made with love , I won’t be back because I wasted my 20 minute work break just waiting for a very less than...
