After enjoying lunch at The Terrace Rooftop & bar restaurant located on Level 21 of the Emporium Hotel, my wife & I enjoyed a pleasant walk through the South Bank Precinct, where we came across the Visitor Centre, at South Bank Parklands. The South Bank Visitors Information Centre is located at the Stanley St Plaza, South Brisbane QLD 4101 & is open between the hours of 9 am & 5 pm on a daily basis. This Visitor Centre is a place where you can obtain information required for your daily activity. You can hire equipment such as strollers, wheelchairs & much more. You can also purchase tickets for tours, cruisers, theme parks & other activities. This public place in Brisbane was created not long after Expo '88. That 6 month period in 1988 brought this area of Brisbane alive & over the decades that have since South Bank is now one of the best locations in Australia to relax & enjoy many of the man made landmarks that have been created. One of the places people should venture to is a public sand beach area where there is a free large lagoon swimming area for everyone to use. This beach area is patrolled by lifeguards. Change rooms, showers & toilet areas are available. The South Bank Parklands is an excellent area for people with disabilities as it is located on the ground level. Easy access for people with mobility scooters & wheelchairs ♿️ The South Bank Parklands has a large range of assorted garden areas' great restaurants. The Piazza Theatre is another public area which caters to many concerts & other activities at South Bank. Public transport is readily available, Brisbane City Council buses, ferries, City Cats run regularly. Queensland Rail has regular services where you can get off at South Brisbane or South Bank Station. This is only a snippet of what is available at South Bank, so put this part of Brisbane on your bucket list to have a day out to enjoy this outstanding landmark.

Entertainment and cultural Boulevard South Bank Parklands. Dining, music, Streets Beach, Laguna and City Eye Wheel are all mainstream attractions to look out for! Running along the Brisbane River, South Bank is an iconic destination for all ages. The location for Expo allowed Brisbane to transform and take the World Stage. Our Queensland Performing Arts Centre, Convention Centre and Griffith University's College of Art, as well as the Queensland Conservatory of Music are just some of the state's esteemed institutions that grace the rainforest boulevard. Exclusive contrasts between Sandstone architecture, and traditional town buildings create bold aesthetics. With our urban leisure hotels such as the Emporium Hotel, and Atira student accommodation, South Bank, has transformed into a unique destination for all things Sunshine State of mind.

If you are an international traveler or new to Brisbane, you should have to visit South Bank Parkland. South Bank Parkland is at the city centre of Brisbane. You will find many things in this area, such as, Brisbane river, wheel of Brisbane, artificial sea, and a beautiful ambience. The city council of Brisbane has organized free ferry ride for all the travellers and residents, but you should have to ask before taking ferry ride. Because all ferries are not free. The surrounding areas of South Bank Parklands are many restaurants and you will find halal food too from Turkish and Lebanese restaurants named Ahmet and Baba Gunouj. Few steps ahead from South Bank you will find King George Square and city shopping mall. In short, South Bank Parklands is the face of Brisbane....

We happened to stop by during a food festival so there was plenty of food stalls lining the road by the parklands. We moved towards the river to get away from the people and it was a really nice place to stroll around. The arbour pathway went all the way to the observation wheel. The most interesting thing was the man-made beach by the river. It was quite large and looked nice, although it was a bit chilly for a dip. Lots of other things to look at as well including the rainforest walk or the Nepalese Pagoda. There are also plenty of restaurants that line the streets so the hard part is trying to figure out where to go. We parked underneath the parkland which was convenient but I'm not too sure how expensive it was. Definitely, a place to stop by if you are in Brisbane.

I spent the day with my sons, ages 5 & 8, at southbank when we had a day to fill before our evening flight. So much to do here, great food options and luggage lockers (small and medium - no large lockers) from $4 for a few hours. The playgrounds are terrific and so are the swimming pools. There are also many gardens and a temple to explore. Too much to do and see for one day, the night markets were just starting up when we had to leave! There is a cute little train that we rode ($5 each) which was a great way to see the areas we hadnt walked around yet and we discovered another play area as well. So i reccommend taking the little train ride so you can see just what is at southbank and then spend more time in the areas that you really like!
