DO NOT BOOK with Aunt Betty (owned by Flight Centre)
The reason I’m writing here is that I haven’t been able to find where to leave a review for Aunt Betty on Google. Aunt Betty has been, by far, the worst travel agency I’ve encountered in my 30 years of traveling the world.
Back in March, we booked four tickets for a family trip to Europe. The airline made some ridiculous changes, including an 8-hour layover on the way there and a 13-hour layover in Abu Dhabi on the way back. I refused to accept these changes and requested a refund. Even though KLM confirmed to me that the tickets were refundable, Aunt Betty refused to process the refund. Instead, they rebooked us on another flight without my approval, seemingly to avoid canceling and refunding the tickets.
I had to dispute the transaction with American Express and was able to get my money back through them. Another set of tickets we booked through Aunt Betty was canceled by the airline, so I immediately contacted them requesting a refund and explicitly stated that I did not give permission to rebook us on another flight. This was two weeks ago, and I’ve yet to hear back from them, so I’ve had to lodge another dispute with American Express.
I am absolutely disgusted by this company’s service. Please, do not ever book with Aunt Betty. I wish I had read reviews before purchasing the tickets.
Flight Centre, you need to seriously look into how Aunt Betty operates. This experience has made me wary of booking with Flight Centre in the future, just in case you handle things...
Read moreI am appalled at the customer service provided by Flight Centre and will not be using them in future. My mother and I were sorting out flights, upon checking out there was an I.T. Error. After a few minutes of the loading sign, an error popped up saying something along the lines of “something went wrong, but don’t worry, no money has been taken. One would assume from this that that the booking has failed and in fact, no money has been taken. So naturally, we decided to book through another company. Several hours later the money randomly came out of her account and a booking confirmation was received. She has called twice to try and get this refunded and has been refused saying that only a partial flight credit is available (for my mother who rarely has need to catch a plane). This is purely taking advantage of someone, this was not an error on her part. Both of us witnessed the error message received while booking, this is an I.T. error not a change of mind refund. I would understand refusal to pay a refund if she had simply decided that she did not need a ticket or if she had accidentally double booked, but this was a system error. I understand that these errors occur, but the company needs to take responsibility for it rather than just enjoying the extra profits. I have also tried contacting your team to discuss where I was refused as the booking is not under my name.

Read moreI booked flights online from the UK direct with AU flight Centre. We unexpectedly had to cancel the flight. I’ve since tried to rebook alternative flights using the credit with the AU flight Centre using my mobile from the UK which was very frustrating as Ann from the flight Centre was extremely rude unhelpful and didn’t seem to know what she was doing. I asked for 2 alternative options of ways to utilize credits offered for AU use only??? After 58 minutes on the phone Ann gave me so much incorrect information about my actual class of travel she refused to provide a service. 168GB POUNDS that call cost me with my UK network provider as because there’s no customer service email available and now I’ve no way of contact I want to use my credit to book flights as I’m traveling for few weeks in AUSTRALIA before returning back to the UK. I’ve filled in 2 feedback forms and no response as timeframe is 21 days I need these flights and credits / refund made available to me now as i spent 890 GB pounds and it’s a huge financial cost to lose… having already lost heavy fees already. I’d really appreciate someone from AU flight Centre to respond to my questions and issue credits before I take the matter further as up until now I still cant get hold of anybody anytime....
