1.5 hours before they close on a saturday night and almost all the meat options were empty except the seafood. The hot food section was also very lack lustre. We were there for 25mins and didn’t see anything get refilled. The red meat and the chicken both looked very suspicious. We did try the “beef of the day” which resembled off cuts of brisket and had a very odd taste - comparable to old or thawed from frozen meat. One diner dropped a pair of tongs on the floor and put them back up near the food - there was employees around and no one said or did anything. There are a lot of staff who don’t seem to be doing much considering it’s predominately self serve. The lady who served us was nice but not very informative, but the couple who was sat next to us got a rundown of how the grill works, menus and told about the bar service, you also have to pay before you dine which is odd. We paid $55 each for a handful of beef and spring rolls because that’s all we felt safe eating. Floor was slippery and the whole restaurant just felt unclean. Unless we were just unlucky and picked an off night to attend, I really do not recommend which is a shame because the rest of ipswich seems to be improving and getting a lot of great dining options. Most Korean BBQ places in sunnybank or the city cost the same or slightly more but have extremely high...
Read moreWe went on Saturday night for a birthday, we had a party of a dozen or so in attendance. Whilst the concept is good unfortunately this place just doesn’t cut it. First off it’s expensive, $59pp on a Saturday night. Im all in for paying that for a great meal no questions asked. The food sadly is ‘sub par’ here. The fried food in the buffet was soggy and cold. The prawns soft, bland, watery and tasteless, the meat (wagyu- supposedly) was chewy and sinewy the pork ribs were ok, but the chicken cuts were way to thick to even attempt cooking them without risk of cross contamination. Salads were non existent. The buffet was ‘very poor to say the least’. At the table it was impossible to not ’stew' the meat from the temperature being so low in the cooking pot. we would try and turn it up only to have the waitress come and turn it down again. We would still be there today trying to cook it if we hadn’t given up in the end. I wasn’t going to write a review as I don’t like giving negative feedback, but this is still bothering me and the party I attended with 4 days later. I don’t know how they are allowed to get away with raw meats and the health department either, I would say someone is probably going to end up with a bad case of food poisoning her with all the cross contamination inside and out with utensils and sauces, plates,...
Read moreWe were walk-in customers, but were able to be accommodated even though very busy night. All you can eat $55- soft drinks included. We went in a Friday night between 6:30-7:00. There was quite a lot of meat selection, and pre-cooked food. Not a lot of veggies/ salad, have seen pictures of the small mushrooms but none there. I do have to question hygiene though. The food is enclosed by sliding glass doors. They are very greasy from peoples fingers from opening and closing ….bring hand sanitizer with you because some of the food you may eat with your fingers. I think they need to think about this. Also the serving tongs are kept on the plates outside the server, and people use random ones on each of the foods- potential for cross contamination, especially in the raw meats. Perhaps leave the tongs in each of the dishes? So perhaps some hand sanitizer at each table wouldn’t go astray? Thicker cuts of meat do take a while to cook. Great concept though, and nice to have something different in Ipswich. If you’re a tall person, don’t sit at the booths, there’s not a lot of leg room for knees between seat and the casement that holds the gas for BBQ. I’m 165cm and knees were touching. So book tables...
