Review of Lanna Thai Restaurant:
Atmosphere:
The atmosphere of the Lanna Thai restaurant is unique and traditional. The decor is authentic and inviting, with beautiful Thai artwork and artifacts. The lighting is dim and warm, creating a relaxed and intimate ambiance. The restaurant is also very clean and well-maintained.
Food:
The food at this restaurant is excellent. The menu offers a wide variety of traditional Thai dishes, all of which are prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The flavors are authentic and delicious, and the dishes are beautifully presented. I especially enjoyed the pad thai, which was perfectly balanced with sweet, sour, and savory flavors. The green curry was also very good, with a rich and creamy coconut broth.
Service:
The service at this restaurant is friendly and attentive. The staff is knowledgeable about the menu and is happy to make recommendations. They are also very accommodating to special requests. I was very impressed with the service I received.
Overall:

Upon walking in for a table for 1, I was told they were full and had to sit outside. Meanwhile I could see one table for 4 in the corner which had obviously been used but not yet cleared and another table for 2 which had also not been cleared. I asked if it was possible to take either of those two tables but the man just repeated abruptly that they were full. He then handed me the menu and pointed to the outside table. I should have taken that as my first hint and left but I was hot and hungry. I sat outside and waited for 10mins, no one came out. I walked back into the restaurant and asked if I could place my order and asked again if I could have some water. I could see that the two tables that were initially available inside where still available and had still not been cleared. I went back outside and waited for my food. I sat out there for another 30mins with no water and still no food. By this stage I was so disappointed that not only had no one come out once to give me even a glass of water but the food was still no where in site. I had had enough. I walked back into the restaurant as I had now been waiting 40mins outside where the tables were barely shaded only to see that the two tables that they had told me where not available where still sitting there uncleared. It was pretty clear that he just couldn’t be bothered clearing either of the tables for me and instead preferred to shove me outside. I told him to cancel my...
Read moreVisited twice in October 2016. Both times the serving staff were very pleasant and efficient. Wine/drinks list is limited but more than adequate. First time, food was not great but average, occasionally good, although the pork belly with broccoli and a pint of garlic turned out not to be a misprint. Rather than a hint, it was indeed a pint of garlic and we couldn't finish the dish.
Second time and the dishes were very ordinary. The Tom Yum soup seemed to be made with a commercial soup stock and there was nothing in it apart from tough chicken pieces and a random small vegetable. No lemon grass, tomato, onion etc etc. Rather bland except for the occasional surprise of dried chili flakes. In fact no dish used fresh chilli...it was all dried and sprinkled in to overpower them all including the Pad Thai. Maybe it was the chefs night off, although it was early on a...
