One star would be too much to given.

2/08/22 6:47pm

I walked pass it and order the food. Before I order I had double confirm with the staff if the eel with tofu serve like the photo ? Like a complete slide of eel, staff confirmed yes. And it's $26. It came with Six thin cold eel slide on top of over fried tofu!!! With a disgusting teast of sweet orange source !!!

And the curry tampura pawn Udon , it's not really a curry Udon ! Three small little overcooked pawn searved with a small bowl of curry powder mix paste, and the Udon noodles with itself served with half warm miso paste soup and it's $16.50!!

I had complaints about it, the staff not willing to do anything but to say oh sorry.

The most redicolus Japanese food I had ever in Sydney !!! Nothing like the photos on their menu and the staff will lie to you and they aren't doing anything with the disgusting food they serve you! Honestly, if they even microwave the cold Sox slide of thin eel , I would be appreciated that!!!

In reply to the owners response:

This is just redicolus! I ate all the food because I am super hungry! Instead of lie, you should just admit your mistake , the eel is just six piece of thin slide , served cold on top of some overcook tofu!!! Top quality??? It's the worse quality ever I've seen in Sydney!! As a food magazine editor for years, I believe I had seen enough to write out a fair true comment!!! The price itself is not too costly, but no one will be happy to pay $26 for six cold thin slide of eel !! You know what, due to the poor scammey experience and you are trying to paint lies over fact in your response, I will consider to get my magazine rate this poor disgusting experience with proof of photos , to warn all my reader . We aren't big, we just have 300k followers in the Chinese community. But it's enough to let the...

When you see a sign in the restaurant that bribe customers to rate them 5 stars so they can give you 10% off the bill, it’s probably because they’re gone downhill so badly they need to skew the review ratings.

Unfortunately that’s proved to be the case for Sushi Dan.

• Kids’ cups and bowls given to us were so dirty we didn’t bother using it. • The menu had half the items unavailable and they didn’t bother replacing the menu with new prices (as with the signs out at the front) - they just stick it over the top on most of the menu items so the menu looks like a mess. • Ordered a kids set with karaage chicken, sushi and pork cutlet set, and a chirashi don. • What actually came out was entirely different to the pictures on the menu - instead of a bowl of mixed fruits you get slices of oranges only; salad consisted of leaves only with no tomatoes or cucumber; pork cutlet was wafer thin and overcooked; rice in the sushi and chirashi was mushy; miso soup was bland.

It feels like they’ve cheapened on every ingredient so they can maximise their profit on each meal.

Needless to say, it was the worst meal I’ve ever eaten and the fake 5 star reviews you see here in Google leaves a sour taste. Would give this place zero...

Sushi Dan - A total waste of $185 bill. We decided to take the kids out for lunch and they love, we love Japanese food. As we have been so many times to Japan we are definitely familiar with the tastes and truly know how sushi rice show be.

This place is by far one of the worse sushi we have had. I reckon the sushi from a food court would be better.

The rice was wet and had a weird texture. He a sashimi plate and one of the pieces had a bone through that hurt one of us while we were eating. And sashimi when done properly should melt in your mouth. It is all about the knife skills. This was a waste of possibly good ingredients.

The nasu dengaku (grilled miso eggplant) - one of my favorite Japanese dishes… this is supposed to be a bit crispy and caramelised on top with the miso glaze etc. It was awful. It was mushy and with lots of mayo and could not taste the miso but the mayo and tasteless eggplant with a baby pure texture to it!!!

Oh so disappointing!!! At least my husband and I had a beer and umeshu to wash the taste away!

Also we had to stop on the way for coffee to forget about the taste and weird texture of the food.…...

Wow. Where do I even begin. I was expecting a lot at first, perhaps my expectations were too high. AND YET! Sushi Dan still did not fail to AMAZE me! A glorious endeavour into a delicious landscape of food and sushi and vegetable tempera and udon and rice. Each bite was filled to the brim, some might say, the maximum, with that delicious taste of umami. BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE! Alfred, Alfred, Alfred. I was served by a charming young lad, whose service was impeccable. It is truly so marvellous to see individuals in this young generation still so hardworking, preserving the tentative balance between work, food, and life. Please get him a pay raise. There is truly nobody in this world who deserves it more. Who knows what it'll fund? His dreams, his passions, perhaps? Not only that, it was located only a small distance from the heart of Chatswood, Chatswood interchange. It is in Chatswood Mandarin Center, surrounded by a bustling hub of restaurants, and yet, only Sushi Dan caught my eye. The price was spectacular, I paid only roughly $14.50 with a delicious vegetable tempura udon. Wow! What a deal. Please consider going to Sushi Dan!

Worst sushi I've ever had, had to cancel half my order as it wasn't edible Reply: We ordered sushi rolls, sashimi set, udon noodle and takoyaki. The rice on the rolls were shiny and looked like it’s melted on top (see the photo I have added). You could see its was over cooked before it even came to the table. I was absolutely disgusted you even served us this because it shows your lack of care. I understand if something goes wrong in the kitchen and things accidentally don’t taste right but when you can clearly see the food is wrong without tasting you shouldn’t serve it as it’s very disrespectful to a paying customer. Either you don’t care or you have no idea how sushi should be served. The fish was not fresh and had a strong taste and I’ve tasted better packet udon noodles. The takoyaki was nice, however the katsuobushi (bonito flakes) were like dust as if they were from the bottom of the bag.
