I would give this less than one star if possible. Never shop at Michael Hill. The product quality is sub par. Bought a pair of gold hoops for my daughters high school graduation. The first hoop broke within 24 hrs. When we went to return we were told that it needed to be sent away for assessment to see if it was defective. A few days later they called to say that it wasn't defective and that the repair would cost $37 dollars. That same day the other hoop broke. The post was left in my daughters ear and I found the hoop on her pillow. I went back today to show them and to ask for another pair or refund. The manager refused, and stated that I should have purchased the protection plan. She reiterated that the first hoop was deemed not defective. By that reasoning I said that they are expecting their products to break within 24hrs? I said that I would gladly take a store credit. The manager refused. I asked for the contact information for the district manager and was told that she was on vacation and would not give me her contact info. Stay away from this store. Absolutely terrible customer service and terrible workmanship of...
Read moreMy husband and I went into the store a few months back just to look at rings and the sales associate was very pushy and was trying to get my then boyfriend to buy me a ring in front of me saying that they will never have a sale like the one they have. We went in on boxing day just to see if the ring was still there and she came out from the back , she remembered us and told us how we chose a great day to come in and how we have to buy the ring today, they didn't even have the ring that i had chose last time so she was trying to sell my husband on another ring. I left the store and she kept him there for another 20 minutes trying to sell him this ring, brought her manager over who was just as annoying and pushy. By far worst experience we have ever had with customer service, they are the worst sales people ever it felt like we were held hostage. We have been to other MIchael Hill stores and their sales people are not even near as annoying as this woman and her...
Read moreI went to the Oakville place branch today to pick up my online order. There were two ladies at the branch who were chatting when I arrived. They acted as if I was interrupting them, rather than providing good customer service.
The payment email was under my husband’s name, and I wanted to make sure if I could pick up the order or not. When I showed the email and said I was there to pick up the online order, they didn’t behave respectfully at all. One of the ladies acted like, “What are you saying? What do you want?” and the other one spoke in an impolite tone, saying, “You need to have your ID with you; it’s written in the email. How could you come without an ID?” I really didn’t like their tone or behavior—it felt completely impolite. Then, without saying anything further, they went back to chatting with each other. If I could, I would definitely return the order just to avoid having to go back to the store....
