A chance encounter led my boyfriend and I to The Poke Box, and I must say, it was a delightful discovery that left our taste buds tingling with satisfaction. I opted for the signature Poke Box. Fresh ingredients meticulously layered atop a bed of rice, each bite was a burst of vibrant flavours that danced on my palate. From the succulent seafood to the crunchy veggies, every component harmonized perfectly to create a truly delicious dish. Meanwhile, my boyfriend indulged in the Lava Blaze, if memory serves me right. I had a couple bites myself as I couldn’t get enough of the flavour. Portion sizes at The Poke Box are commendable, ensuring that hunger is kept at bay without compromising on quality. The balance of flavours in each bowl is a testament to the care and attention that goes into crafting these culinary delights. Overall, The Poke Box earns a solid 4 out of 5 stars from us. Whether you're a poke lover or a curious newcomer, it's definitely worth a visit for fresh flavours and generous portions that will leave you craving more!

Been coming here for years, but just started writing yelp reviews. The best poke bowl in Toronto, in my opinion, and one of the best in the world (I’ve been to Hawaii, where it originated from, and still think this is amazing). Food: 5/5 - I get the lava blaze every Monday or Tuesday and it is fantastic. My personal spin on it is having it with grain blend, take out the orange fish eggs and replace it with seaweed salad, as well as take out the fried onions and replace with green onions. It is fantastic and I never get sick of it. Service: 5/5 - The workers are nice and very efficient, because the place gets super busy. Awesome folks! Ambiance: 5/5 - It’s a take out spot, so there isn’t really an ambiance, but it is a nice vibe of a place! Feels like a poke food truck but that’s in a small store. Overall: 4.5/5 - I give it a 4.5/5 only because it is a bit pricey. $18 for a bowl after-tax, however, they really do use good quality ingredients.

I tried The Poke Box at the 161 Bay food court and went with the make-your-own medium bowl (which turned out to be my go-to healthy quick solution): • Base: purple rice • Sauce: roasted sesame • Protein: double salmon • Mix-ins & add-ons: edamame, corn, mandarins, crab salad, avocado • Finishing touches: pumpkin seeds, ginger, fried onions This turned out to be the perfect combo for a healthy lunch that’s ready in just 3 minutes. The double salmon packs in plenty of protein, while the purple rice gives a nice balance of healthy carbs. The mandarins add a refreshing, citrusy touch that lifts the whole bowl, and the avocado makes it even creamier. The crunch from pumpkin seeds and fried onions ties everything together beautifully. For about $20, it’s excellent value for the quality and portion size. Rating: 5/5 – taste, quality, speed, and price all on point.

tl;dr - Inconsistent service. Some days, they would split our bowl as requested. Other days, they would refuse - charging us extra for another container, but claiming unable to do something as simple as split it into said container. Would give us different bowls than we ordered, half the time. Staff can be very dismissive - the food is good, though.

I’ll get this out of the way: the Poke here is delicious. Fresh, flavorful, filling: it’s why we kept going back. However, I’ve been there maybe 5 times and had a problem with the service every. Single. Time.

I come to this place after going to workout classes with a friend. We’ve got somewhere else to be afterward and have to eat on the way there: scooping a million ingredients into another bowl is not an option (we tried), and refrigerating leftover portions is not an option. We need one regular sized bowl split in half. We’ll pay extra for the extra bowl, and a splitting surcharge; whatever is necessary, we just need it split. When we’ve come in with this request, one of two things happened:

(1) The group of people behind the counter looked confused, then said they’ll give us the extra bowl for $1 and we can split it ourselves. If we pushed back on that - it’d be a lot easier for them to split it back there before putting it in then for us to split it after they put all the ingredients in, never mind that we don’t have time for that - they would go back and talk to the manager. After a few minutes they’d come back saying that that’s not possible: we split it ourselves or nothing.

(2) There was one person behind the counter. They said they could do it no problem, and that there was a 40c charge for the extra bowl. They were kind and efficient, but not once did they gave us the bowl that we ordered. Ask for the Big Umami, get The Poke Box. Order The Poke Box, get the Lava Blaze. Lol.

The poke is good but the inconsistency is irritating. I mean, I have literally never gotten the order I wanted. Additionally, I find that when there’s a group of people behind the counter the kindness just isn’t there. Like, the last time the woman we were talking to literally left to address a ringing phone in the middle of us ordering, without explanation or apology. (Someone else was already tending to it, and there were 2 other people in the back just having a conversation, so it’s not like it would have rung out.) Just, turned around and walked over to it, as I trailed off awkwardly. Very bizarre.

I love poke and I’m irresponsible with my money; they lost a...

One of my favourite places for lunch and worth the walk even if you are not too close They have a good selection of toppings and the fish is fresh. There are a few combinations to choose from which are all delicious and they also let you make your own bowl is that’s what you’re feeling. As for the base I really like how they let you do half zucchini noodles and half rice which is a nice mix and gives a really nice texture As for the size, I normally get a small and still have some leftover I have never gotten a large but I feel like that would be good to share as I think the small for two people would be too little They also have a bowl of the day but is mostly sold out if you go after one. I would recommend to go before 12 or after 1 to beat the rush but even with a line they are typically pretty efficient and you will not have to wait very long in line. Also offered on ritual pickup is just at the end past the cashier so it is very convenient. Only thing is you cannot make your own bowl and they do not take special orders from 12-1 but if you are just ordering from the regular menu that would not...
