My girlfriend attended Harlow Gold Salon to have her hair colouring done by Dayna. Although Dayna is a very nice person she unfortunately messed up my gf's hair. My gf asked for a strawberry blonde and sent a picture as reference prior to her appointment (1st pic linked below). My girlfriend ended up with what Dayna called a "Warm Blonde" which actually turned to a yellow blonde with a dark ginger root. My gf specifically asked for a lighter blonde root and did not mind the regrowth demarcation as she mentioned coming back for root touch ups when needed but Dayna influenced her on going for a darker root colour saying that it would be better for her root regrowth. My gf was still unsure but Dayna reassured her saying that she would keep it light while blending it all in with blonde highlights. My gf decided to proceed. Once revealed, she was shock as it wasn’t really like the picture sent prior and was a bit embarrassed. She did not know how to react or what to think and left. Once I got to see her hair I was disappointed as it was not what we agreed on. My girlfriend ended up asking Dayna for a root correction and got quoted another 175$ to lighten her root with blonde on top of the 450$ she initially paid. My gf then went back 1 week later to do the root correction and a toner. When the touch ups were done, my gf was discourage since her root was still a dark ginger and the rest yellowish. My gf ended up only being charged an extra 25$ + tx. Dayna excused herself by saying that it is not easy to obtain a strawberry blonde the first try. I find it unfortunate that perhaps the hair stylist decided to proceed on trying something that exceeded her competency knowing the fact that she could probably not obtain the initial demand on the first try. If ever she felt uncomftable in doing such colour she could of refused while staying professional. It is unfortunate that my gf will have to get her hair done again or at least another good root touch up and furthermore frustrating on my end since this was supposed to be her holiday gift and she will need to return elsewhere before...
Read moreWhen I moved from Australia to Vancouver in 2022, I went on a search for a great hairstylist who could help me with stubborn grey regrowth as well as blonde highlights. I went to Dayna at a different hair salon (prior to Harlow Gold) and not only did she address my hair needs but she is a lovely, bubbly and kind person who I looked forward to going to see. When she told me she was moving hair salons, I just had to go with her and have been going to see her at Harlow Gold since she moved. I have not ever been disappointed by Dayna's service and will always trust her and leave it to her when I want to change something up with my hair. I had my last hair appointment yesterday with Dayna (before moving back to Australia), and wanted to go out with a bang but didn't have any particular style / colour in mind, leaving all decisions up to her because she knew my hair better than I did. I completely trusted her expertise and loved the final result. I will definitely miss going to see Dayna to get my hair done and our chats, and I am so thankful for her service these past couple of years. Highly...
Read moreAnita has been my stylist for nearly a decade. In that time, she has made my “transition to grey” very easy. I’m pretty low maintenance when it comes to upkeep, only lifting once a year; the amount of care and effort she puts into the longevity of my colour is second to none.
She uses a fine-weave technique that seamlessly blends my highlights. So much so, that I still receive compliments after a year’s worth of regrowth, as it can pass as balayage.
She’s also fantastic at precision cutting, which is what a huge win for anyone who’s looking to grow their hair out and doesn’t want to lose too much length when coming in for trims. I’ve never left her chair feeling like she’s taken too much off, even when I’ve gone (way) too long between cleanups.
There’s not enough characters in the review field for all the good things I have to say about Anita and her work. There’s no one else I trust more with my hair. If you’re on the hunt for a new stylist, you won’t be...
