I came to Wave Coffee, about 2 minutes' walk from the hotel, around 9 o'clock this morning on Sat. There were a few customers in the store, but it wasn't crowded at all. I, who had no appetite, looked into the bake case to see what to eat for breakfast. I don't usually eat muffins, but I caught my eye with cranberries, bitter orange muffins, lemons, and zucchini muffins. Then, I ordered both and ordered the store's signature Nanaimo. I decided to try Wave au lait for drinks. I didn't add the tip because it was to go when I paid. Maybe that's why the women on the staff didn't smile at me and told me to come get the drink. I feel that tipping is becoming commonplace but requires a smile and gratitude. I took it back to the hotel and had cranberry orange muffin and Wave au lait, and it tasted good. I couldn't eat anything else, but I'm sure good taste!

Thanks for the vegan options. That's pretty rare for a coffee shop. I liked the banana muffins. The blended and prepared drinks were expensive but on par with other coffee shops. Some of the baked goods were labelled "veg" but were not vegan. Are they trying to label them as vegetarian? Dont baked goods typically contain milk and eggs? Isn't that redundant? Are you trying to specify that there are no animal bones? (gelitin). Isn't it a bit confusing? One barista made me a dark chocolate mochachillo. It wasn't sweet at all and she said that I would have to pay extra to sweeten it how I expected. I didn't bother. Maybe you could introduce paper straws. Also, sellong metal straws would be a great market, too.

Convenient location downtown with lots of seating options - it’s beautiful and clean on the inside! I love the spring gnomes that greeted us at the counter 🌸 the drinks are good as well. My only comment is the service and making of the drinks can be quite slow, at least it was during my last 2 visits. The most recent visit, two staff members were talking for a while before turning to us to take our order. We were the only ones in the shop and had to wait longer than expected for my lemonade. I would definitely visit this location again (if I’m not in a rush!).

Absolute terrible service, we went in at 6:50 PM to get a cup of americano to go, then the girl outside picking up patio chairs, came up to us outside the door and told us to leave right away as it’s past the last call. But they close at 7PM and there were 10 minutes left and they denied us entry

Number 1, I’ve never heard of that there is a last call at any coffee shop, Starbucks or BLENZ coffee or anything. They didn’t even give me a chance to order a small to go americano. That takes literally 2 minutes.

Secondly, I was refused entry, literally didn’t even get in their front door, a full 10 minutes before their closing time.

I’d suggest everyone to not come to this place, as the server is very rude and non empathetic to your needs, there are better coffee shops else where, waves is not the only one in town.

After me and my wife were rejected entry, we went to the Starbucks about 1 block away and got our americano. We will never ever visit a Waves coffee chain again due to this rude and incompassionate service

Avoid this place...

I have been going to several branches of Waves for the last ten years, and until today, most of my experiences are positive. Today, I was at this Waves shop, and I was unfortunate to have to deal with a host who knows very little about hospitality or even manners, to be honest. I paid for my takeout food and even left a tip. She brought me a muffin and when I was it I asked her to replace it because it did not look right (too squished and too small; perhaps old), and instantly, she made facial gestures right in my face, showing she was disgusted... like I was there to beg for food or something. I told her I didn't particularly appreciate how she was acting or looking at me, and she fired right back at me that she did not like what I said either and said have a good day and waved me out. A colleague of hers or perhaps the manager tried to make her stop talking back at me, and she was successful after several failed attempts. This woman was the worst coffee shop host ever, and this was by far my worst experience ever at a place...

Worst service ever at the site at Robson st and Cambie @ 1155 Sunday may 19. Young lady took the order. Messed it up only one muffin instead of two. Just ordered another muffin no big deal. I ordered a latte and mocha to stay as well. When my friend mentioned they are to stay she poured his into a mug. Not happy she had to do this. No lines up neither. Not even busy in the shop. She didn’t put mine into a cup until I asked. when I asked her to redo mine as the foam was all messed up. She then responded with did you order it to stay with attitude. I stated yes. She was very rude Then when said thank you she ignored me. I mentioned I said thank you again. To which she responded welcome. Asked for her name responds don’t have to give Asked for name of supervisor/manager stated not here. Then she States send an email. I had to ask for the email address. First time at this location but have coffee at waves regularly. The cashier was pleasant enough but the barista was...
