I've walked by this place probably a thousand times and have never noticed it until today. Was going to get Ramen next door but saw that they were too busy so I decided to check this place out. Boy, was I in for a treat.

The owner, Jim is a very very nice guy and easy to talk to. What I liked the most was that he really wants to cater your order to your appetite which I wasn't used to at all as no restaurant I've been to does that. While making my food he asked me how hungry I was and how much rice/noodle we wanted in our order. He said he prefers us to finish the food than to waste it if he gives too much.

I ordered the grilled beef with rice, medium spicy which was excellent. I myself personally enjoy spicy food and thought medium wasn't enough so for those that want to kick it up a notch, ask for very spicy. My wife is a vegetarian and ordered their veggie yakisoba. I myself personally don't like to eat vegetarian food but the wifey told me to try a bite of her food. After the first bite I can definitely say it's one of the best vegetarian noodle dishes I've had in a long while.

During these unprecedented times, let's all ensure we support our local small mom and pop shops as they've been the back bone of our...

What a great idea – to cook with water instead of oil, and no MSG! It's been a couple of years since I ordered Chinese take out, mostly because I can't handle stir fry grease and taste, and over abundance cornstarch sauce over my rice. This was different. I had a choice of not having any sauce on my food which meant that I was able to taste the basic ingredients. The chef is also very flexible. I couldn't make up my mind between gai lan or broccoli and they gave me both. He was low on beef and suggested a combination of beef and chicken which is also something not available with traditional Chinese take out. The rice was so good – they use short grain rice cooked firmly which I prefer over dried-up-7:00-pm Jasmine rice. My overall experience was excellent. Now that I know I can define the ingredients, I look forward to enjoying more of these super freshly cooked meals. The second time I tried this, I forgot to mention no garlic, and half way through, I tasted the garlic. And my tummy did not want to keep the food, which was...

I’ve been a customer here for 10 years. Back when I lived in Yaletown, I used to come every night to get the cumin chicken & rice. Now, I don’t eat meat anymore so today I stopped by for the first time in a very long time for a veggie + tofu plate. The same friendly owners (a lovely couple) exuded warmth and graciousness, the same smiles that drew me here every night 10 years ago.

In a time where authenticity can be a rare commodity, this restaurant stands out as a shining example of honest people doing an honest business. Their dedication to serving delicious, wholesome home-style Chinese food with a side of genuine warmth is a quality that shines through in every aspect of this operation. For the reviews that say the food is bland — Just kindly ask them as I do for extra sauce, extra spice and seasoning. They don’t use oil or MSG, so it can be perceived as ‘bland’ but after extra natural flavoring, it’s as delicious as Chinese...

Honestly the best place to go when you're too tired (or lazy) to cook and just crave a taste of Asian-fusion goodness whilst maintaining a single chin and non-oversized belly (no dishes being drowned in oil and msg like other fast food / Chinese restaurants) I've been a regular customer for about 7 years now (only half of the time the restaurant's been around, ~14 years) And I'm impressed at the consistency of the quality and freshness of the dishes. Not to mention the affordable prices (12 - 20 per person) I just hope you can set aside some time to try out the food at Super Chef. They're working really hard to provide tasty, affordable, healthy foods. My personal favorites are Mapo Tofu, Szechuan dishes, Beef Yakisoba, Curry Chicken and Beef (extra protein!) and their Soy Sauce Chicken (monthly special!)

I came here after looking at the google reviews and it did not disappoint!! They have very good food portions for the price and the chinese couple who owns the store are extremely friendly and nice - I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Vancouver. The owners care really much about their service and the quality of their food and it shows. They asked me and another customer if we had enough rice and meat and if we wanted any sauce. (They even gave me free fruits after, when I told them that I was a student) The food is also so good and tasty, will definitely become one of my to-go places if I'm in downtown. (I ordered the 铁板牛肉饭 TieBanNiuRouFan- beef teriyaki in english I think)
