Extremely disappointing and stressful shopping experience which couldn’t have been imagined for this traditional high end store. First of all, called the hotline to reserve an item (which was a few thousand dollars), was vaguely told a staff of the ifc store would call me back to confirm and my phone never rang. Couldn’t be bother to call again to reserve, i visited the store’s home furnishing dept in person and was awkwardly and reluctantly greeted by the staff (as if a person my age wasn’t expected to make any purchase) and of course, he couldn’t find my reserved item because they never put through my reservation (which I could totally look past as you know, no expectation should be given to the retail industry’s service these days) Paid for my item and then I proceeded to the gift wrapping station to get my wedding present wrapped and was told firmly that the entire few-storey store ONLY HAD CHRISTMAS WRAPPING PAPER AND DARK BROWN ribbons since it is DECEMBER. All gifts, regardless of your occasion be it funeral, wedding, birthday, engagement, your friends will get a present in a package that’s screams “CHRISTMAS “. The staffs were very poorly trained they could not handle any basic enquiry or request. As helpless as I could be, i called the hotline at the spot about the situation so the person on the hotline could instruct the staffs what to do in the store( kinda like remote control) and the gift wrapping station guy still thought he could get away with giving me some super old looking all wrinkled wrapping paper. It finally got sorted out after a few rounds of coming back and forth, and maybe 6 staffs involved in the scene. it wasted me more than an hour which could have been used efficiently at my office. I would not recommend anyone who wants a decent shopping experience to shop at lane Crawford, unless you’re fine with below par staff who are incapable of handling basic and reasonable requests such as reserving an item and gift wrapping for the proper occasion. But of course, HK retail service is...
Read moreMy shopping experience has always been great at Lane Crawford, though my review this time is primarily for their member lounge located in Lane Crawford IFC.
Been their member for some years and upon every visit to their lounge, the staff have always been courteous and helpful, including the tea ladies.
Some suggestions though, which I hope can be reviewed by management.
The toilets in the lounge almost always bear a sign that says "temporarily under repair", the snacks have been downgraded to only mixed nuts or biscuits (limiting choices) and on one occasion, while trying clothes in one of the fitting rooms inside their lounge, the door couldn't be opened from the inside! Good thing another patron sitting closer to the fitting room heard my "frantic" pleas. Not a good experience to be locked inside, by the faulty door for 15 mins b4 a barage of staff came to take down the door to free me!
Apart from those, I will still give them 4 stars for...
Read more2 stars for its lack of customer care and shopping experience. In light of Covid 19 they have a "doorman" standing by every entrance, measuring your body temperature upon entry. Unlike other better established stores like Citysuper in the same Hall, there were no signs of mandatory wearing masks (socially acceptable here currently under Covid 19), no signs of the need of measuring body temperature. As I approach the entrance, the "doorman" walked up to me and stick the handheld infrared thermometer to your face without a word. How rude is that! For this alone it deserves zero star.
Even a government run sports facility the lady would ask nicely to measure my body temperature as required. If they're too busy with too many human traffic, they would install a broad infrared camera scanner, but they aren't, therefore the doorman is not busy at all, but was fails to appreciate how the...
