As many others have noted, the food is flavourful and delicious but extremely pricey. The menu only says market price and we did ask the waitresses about cost but when the bill came, it was still more than expected (due to weight of the seafood they gave us). They charged us for everything including peanuts which was already on the table when we sat down. Rice was 25HKD a bowl which is exorbitant in my opinion. Understandably the price is expensive given it is seafood but for the environment and portion sizes, there are definitely much better places to spend your money. It’s hidden on the 1st floor and the staff did not have a table ready for us despite us having a reservation. We thought this was unacceptably poor service.

This is the worst dining experience in HK. We were misled by the Michelin guide. The food was absolutely over priced. The clam that we ordered had very little meat. Two third of the dish was empty shell. On the menu, price of a dish of vegetable was shown. I asked about the vegetables that were available and ordered one that was mentioned by the staff. Then the staff told me the styles that it might be cooked. I chose one that was mentioned. When the bill came, it was double the price showed on the menu. Will never patronise again.

We were misled by the michelin rating and thought food must be great. However, service staff were pushing us to order expensive dishes and everything was too salty. When they realised that we didn't want to order all the dishes they recommended, they told us that we had to finish the food in an hour as they were expecting groups with reservations even though the restaurant was not even half-full. A very expensive and unenjoyable experience.

THE BEST CHINESE RESTAURANT IN MY LIVE! We live in the USA and my husband family is in Hong Kong. We have been to Hing Kee for the past 20 years and always dream while in US to go back. The Clam with black bean sauce is to die for! Also, the duck soup is a dream! Eating here is like eating the ancient history of fisherman sophisticated cooking!

We are so lucky to have Mei today. She share with us the history of Hing Kee and Hong Kee. The love of cooking of Hing Kee and the sophisticated techniques of how they cook each plate especially the duck noodle and the black bean sauce was so heart warming to know. The price is not cheap but the food quality is unparalleled.

We give our very highest recommendation for anyone who would love to try the real homemade cooking that you could not find any where else in the world except...

Food and service was good had duck, crab, clams and prawns etc. Was around $70 a head AUD for 7 people. The only issue is many fresh seafood items don’t have prices only market prices which are unknown. Therefore your bill could be unexpectedly pricy. What we found out is if you go to Sai Kung seafood prices for large groups are available for a much lower price and a known set menu course price, so if you want seafood recommend going there instead. The youtube shows hype up this place, the crab looked good but was on the small size and could be dry due to the frying process but if you like fried garlic its fine. Regarding food is good but not amazing for the price. Definitely a restaurant for...
