Old Hong Kong Style Italian Restaurant Nostalgic restaurants are becoming rare, especially with Hong Kong's poor economic environment. It's getting harder to find long-established restaurants. A friend mentioned that Tivoli Italian Restaurant in Jordan has over 40 years of history, so I decided to bring my partner to try it out. There are quite a few food options here. The dinner set menu includes roast tenderloin of beef, surf & turf, and there are also set menus for two and four people. Additionally, you can order other dishes à la carte. This time, we ordered the roast tenderloin of beef set for $168. It included three pieces of tenderloin, a scoop of mashed potatoes, half a baked tomato, red onions, and mushroom sauce. The portion of tenderloin was quite generous. We ordered it medium, and it was cooked very well, with a rich beef flavor. It was quite worth it. The mashed potatoes were smooth and flavorful, adding a nice touch to the tenderloin set. The baked tomato and red onions were decent. My wife and I ordered the $88 beef tenderloin set lunch. The cut seems to me is really tenderloin. That's great price. The sauce does not have enough favour which is easily corrected with salt and pepper. Though we have only tasted one dish, from the food menu, the place doesn't seem to serve authentic Italian food. I deducted 1 star for that.

Waiters and waitresses all wear tie or bow tie. Waiters wear very sharp black suits. They were courteous except when a waitress came to collect the plates that we had used for the bread. The plates were on the other side away from the aisle so we had to stop eating for her to collect the used plates. What's more? She put a pile of 4 used plates collected from other customers on our table while collecting ours. I deducted another star so that's how I gave them 3 stars overall.

By the way, the place adds 10% service charge to the bill when most restaurants in nearby Jordan area...

A brilliant old-timer with great service. With close to 50 years history, Tivoli delivered surprisingly down to earth price tag with great service in every staff’s mind. Foods are great with decent portion and steaks were cooked to how they were asked to. Different courses were served in the correct sequence and they give you plenty of time to finish your course before serving the next one. Individual plates are proactively change along with every course to make sure you have a clean plate to start with. Despite being at a prime location, they have set no time limit for diners and you can sit for however long you want at the restaurant. Such a rare sight at this day and age!
