Looked up pure fitness on google and saw that they provided a free trial service and decided to try it out the next day. The "customer representative" Hilris Cheng's attitude was just plain rude. I myself am a university student and was treated in a condescending way throughout our interaction purely due to her assumptions of my lower financial status. As an employee, she has no right to treat customers like myself in this way.
Instead of doing her job and telling me what the gym has to offer, what contract plans the gym offers, she simply stated "how are you supposed to join if you don't even know the price", clearly challenging my financial status. Her disgustingly rude attitude from the start of our consultation instantly made me discouraged to join this gym. Additionally, I don't think she understands the people customers like myself could reach out to if my experience was a pleasant one, whether this be through social media or in person to friends and family. But after my personal interaction I have ruled out joining pure fitness and will naturally speak of this distasteful experience to anyone i know whom might be interested in joining . In addition no tours of the gym was provided after the consultation which would be expected at any gym.
During the consultation I was not required to fill any forms. However I was sent an email of a pdf copy of a document I supposedly filled out with Hilris Cheng that left me shocked in disbelief. The emailed pdf form contained a forged signature of mine to confirm information on my personal medical and physical status and consent to terms and conditions of taking part in the 7 day trial at pure fitness.
My consultation experience was unprofessional and left me feeling belittled and un-welcomed. I do hope pure fitness has the decency to train their consultants to have general courtesy to potential clients despite of their age and appearance. And of course, not forge clients signatures...
Other than that, its a decent gym that gets crowded with the limited equipment and space, but receptionists were welcoming. Consultation was unprofessional,...
Read moreThe world of PURE - promises vs. reality! I recently joined PURE in Wanchai - to take it ahead: the worst decision ever! I am writing this review in order to let you guys know what I have experienced and to warn everybody out there who is considering to sign a contract with PURE. While doing his sales pitch, the PURE sales guy told me about the great offerings and the huge variety in regards to workout and yoga classes. After starting my contract I tried to sign up for some HIIT and spinning classes, but all of them were booked out. The same happened to me with the yoga classes. When I complained about it, I was told that I need to sign up at 9am sharp, 2 days ahead a class in order to have a slight chance to get a free spot. Another option is to join a "Waitlist", which requires you to be present and wait outside the class until they let you know whether they have a spot available or not. Who on earth has the time to sit in front of a booking app every day at 9am, who in the business world with a highly demanding job always knows his schedule a few days ahead and who is willing to waste his precious time to sit outside a class in the hope to make it into a class? In this context you should also know that members get "punished / blocked" when cancelling too often and too late, so that you may not sign up for classes for a certain period of time. To be honest, all this is ridiculous - PURE pretends to be the "top-notch gym" in HK, but instead of being "premium", PURE is far away from providing high-end services. After you have signed a contract with them, they show their real face and you quickly find out that the reality looks totally different from the friendly billboard and shiny advertisement campaigns. On my second day of the membership I tried to get out of the contract - they told me that they don´t have a "cooling-off" policy and that they won´t let me out. Be aware of the fact that money is more important for PURE, than customer satisfaction - welcome to the...
Read moreI tried out a 7-day free trial at the ifc branch of Pure Fitness and was extremely disappointed by the service I was "greeted" with. Hilris Cheng- the customer representative that was to help me start my trial- was extremely rude, condescending and uninformative. She failed to make me feel welcome at the gym, and scoffed at the idea of me becoming a full time member. Hilris seemed to doubt that a membership here was within my budget and was reluctant to grant me the free trial. When she did eventually grant it, she didn't give me a tour of the facilities, nor did she give me a heads up on how the electronic lockers worked. It honestly felt like she was discouraging me from joining. Furthermore, I was later emailed a copy of a customer profile I had apparently signed with Hilris. This document contained information on the terms and conditions of my trial, as well as asked about any health or medical conditions I may have. I was appalled to see that all the boxes had been ticked on my behalf, and my signature had been forged at the bottom of the page. I was never informed of the terms and conditions (nor was I asked about any medical history) until it was emailed to me as a PDF already filled in and signed. It really is a shame that my first experience with Pure Fitness was so disappointing. The people at the reception desk were really pleasant, and the facilities are clean and in excellent condition. However my interaction with Hilris really shocked me and offset how I view Pure Fitness now. Immediately after my consultation with Hilris, I knew I would not be signing up for a membership here regardless of the gym...
