Square Louvois ended up being one of the most unexpectedly beautiful moments of my time in Paris. I had some time to wander and stumbled across this little park tucked away in the city—it immediately felt welcoming. There’s a gorgeous fountain in the middle and wide grassy areas where people were lounging, napping, reading, and just enjoying the day. Kids were laughing, running around, even stepping into the fountain to play. It was such a wholesome, happy scene.
What really struck me was how peaceful it felt. You didn’t get that uneasy feeling you sometimes do in parks in big cities. Everyone there—locals, tourists, families, solo visitors—seemed relaxed and kind. I laid down on the grass with a book, had a little food and cider I’d brought with me, and just let the afternoon pass. I even ended up talking to a few strangers, and somehow, I actually fell asleep on the grass for a bit. That’s how safe and serene it felt.
