When Michelain-starred L'Écrivain closed recently, my foodie heart broke. Killian and his team at the Hen's Teeth Cafe have glued the pieces back together, and then some. I have eaten many wonderful dishes around the world, but this may have been the most delicious meal I have ever had. The juicy pink venison with quince and a side of creamy grains with black kale, the beautifully dressed beef tartare in a crisp tartlet shell, the madly well-balanced white chocolate/sea buckthorn/malted biscuit dessert, ridiculously tasty sourdough bread, refreshing, assertive non-alcoholic ginger mint mojito and the cheeky watermelon slushy are all worth coming back for. To me, the greatest surprise was the Prince Edward squash with smoked almonds (or pumpkin seeds?), gooseberry and grated blue cheese. I had totally underestimated this dish. They knocked it so far out of the park that the entire 'really tasty for a vegetarian dish' concept went up in flames. A dish that cannot be bettered, full stop. Lest I forget, all the staff were fabulous, and it's a unique setting with a couple of galleries' worth of art pieces to feast your eyes on. How lucky these are matched by the art on...

Been working with this venue on multiple events since May 2024, and to say this is one of the sweetest venues in the city is an absolute understatement.

Rosie and Greg run this venue like no other venue owners in Dublin, and since giving me the chance to throw a couple of events in their space, they have been nothing but supportive and helpful in everything that I’ve planned.

The staff are absolutely second to none, between the bartenders, floor staff and security, everybody is so welcoming, kind and professional, there has not been a single time myself or anyone attending my events has felt unsafe or unsure about the venue due to how caring and understanding the entire team are here.

Even when there has been trouble at any of the events I’ve thrown, the staff have kept their composure and handled the problem professionally and with ease, and I can’t thank them enough for that.

If there is an event happening in The Hens Teeth that even has you half interested, please for the love of god GO! Because even if the event itself isn’t quite your taste, the staff and owners will make you feel so at home you’ll forget why...

The food was absolutely stellar so kudos to the kitchen. However, our experience at the table left us with a sour taste in our mouths. We ordered all of the snacks and plates at the beginning as instructed. 5 minutes after finishing the last plate, we tried to order dessert but were told me needed to give up our table. I checked my watch and it had been 1.5 hours total. If that is the rule, that's fine, but there were several tables around us who were seated before us and were still receiving dishes. It's a shame because we were going to order dessert and another round of drinks, 30 quid more probably and were going to tip. It would be one thing if the food all came out immediately and we were just sitting at the table not ordering more, but we literally didn't even have time to order anything else with the pace of the dishes. Disappointing because we really liked the food and the vibe and would have liked to go back, but cant really relax in a place with such a strict short time limit at tables and it takes away from...

We picked Hen's Teeth as our venue for our August wedding. It was perfect. Orla was fantastic. She had everything running smoothly on the day and we were able to relax and enjoy our day. The venue itself is in an L shape with tall windows, a gorgeus retro backdrop and a beautiful painted mural on the main wall. Lighting is warm and cosy. There's a disco ball too for some extra fun! Food was great. Even our picky eaters enjoyed it. We had our ceremony there as well and after, they rearranged the area for family style dinner. Tables were decorated exactly as I asked. Overall was perfect. Great staff, great atmosphere, very relaxed, highly recommend for a stress free wedding.

I shot three gorgeous wedding here this year {I’m a wedding photographer - Wild Things Wed} & Hen’s Teeth is fast become my fave alternative city venue! I just love the vibe of the space - it’s a mix of industrial/exposed features, colourful murals {I think these change a few times a year} and funky decor - think disco balls, neon signs & cool art prints. It’s perfect for a cool, relaxed city wedding. From a photographer perspective it’s really easy to shoot here. There’s loads of light coming in from a full wall of huge windows and you’re in a really cool party of Dublin for some couple portraits out on the street. Hopefully I’ll be back here loads more :D
