A small, local liquor store which also carries bags of rice for sale, just like any old liquor stores used to be. They carry several local beers and sake which is great for someone like me staying in a nearby inn. Not the place if you are looking for a deal or many options but it was perfect for what I was...

改装工事の為別の場所で臨時営業中。工事計画表を見るに2021年8月まで？ 2023年2月再訪。2021年7月にリニューアルオープンしたそうで、とても綺麗な店作り。外観が綺麗な宿とカフェとこちらの酒屋が3軒並んでいるので、古い建物のイメージが強い草津温泉の中で現代的な雰囲気を感じるエリア。 バスターミナルから湯畑に行くメイン通りにあり、行きも帰りも寄りたくなります。

ソラチエース樽生やデュワーズハイボール、日替わりのワイン/日本酒/ウイスキーの有料試飲がなんと500円。 ウイスキーは響とイチローズモルトでした。 利益度外視感が凄い。

日本酒は1杯限定ながらもセルフの無料試飲があり、4種類いただけるので正直これだけで満足出来てしまうレベル。 利益度外視感がｒｙ

冷蔵コーナーにはノンアルカクテル、ワイン、日本酒、地元クラフトビール(ちゃんとIPAとかファームハウスエールもあり)、と一通り揃ってます。 特筆すべきはウイスキーコーナー。 観光地の酒屋とは思えない充実した品揃えで、海外有名所のオフィシャルは勿論、シグナトリー/モルトマン/ブティックウイスキー等のボトラーズものまで20-30種ほど置いてあります。 正直、草津温泉旅行中にウイスキーのボトラーズものを買う人はあまりいないと思いますが、特別感はかなりありますし、草津を盛り上げようという気合の入りようが伝わってきます。
